He's going to Northwestern with Lujan

Wouldn't he be better off declaring for the NFL?   What does another in at Northwestern do for him?

All this talent but no playoff wins means only one thing …

The good ones have been moving on since the days of Kenny Golladay unfortunately.

This site is the only place on the planet that thinks the above statement is true.

There isn’t a single objective statistic you can point to that puts him anywhere near the discussion of “bust”.

Now how about number of injuries incurred per quarter played?   He was constantly hurt in high school, college and the pros.  In reality the Bison made Wentz look good and not the other way around.

If that’s true wouldn’t they get the new AD in place first to make the football hire?

I doubt anyone wants to wait 3 months until the new AD is in place.   We hired Mussman with an interim AD.   Would you like me to elaborate on how that turned out?

amazing how they are both on at same time, all the time.

Maybe, just maybe, in a parallel universe they're the same people.  LOL

There are 10 Costco’s in the Twin Cities area. I have been to 4 or 5 of them, so I looked it up and there were more than I thought.

You are right.   I had looked it up too a few days ago but never got around to correcting it.   We used to stop at the one in Maple Grove until they opened the one at St. Cloud.   I wonder if a lot of those were added in the last couple years?   I sure didn't remember that many.

killed our athletic program for years and we are still pulling our way out of that hole.

have the university to the south startup women's hockey and see what happens.

Geez now I've heard it all.

I don't always agree with @gfhockey (and sometimes he p!$$es me off), but he does add a unique perspective to this forum. This place would be boring if everyone agreed with everyone else all the time.

Imagine how really boring it would be here if everyone was completely sober when they posted.

And yet I’ll be here next August for all of it.  What a weird little addiction, and I think I speak for a lot of us.

Like the Chicago Cubs of old.   Maybe this year at the start of the season, then  it changes to maybe next year.

I was thinking.....if Bubba was going to retire early.....would be smart to do it after the portal closes. I don't think he is going to but that would be the time to do it.

Then have Danny hopefully start building some momentum and hype in the spring.

I have no desire to have Danny as the next head coach.   My go to word on this-Inbred

I called them once 0n an issue with Allegiant cutting flights and talked to an assistant and got no where, I also asked them to get a carrier to Denver also

Devils Lake and Jamestown have Denver flights

May be a Denver flight that stops in Rapid City on the way, not all flights are non stop

years ago the minot flight to Denver stopped in Bismarck on the way

seems like Williston and Minot have better people running their airports

Those flights out of Jamestown and Devils Lake are heavily subsidized by the taxpayers too.   I consider EAS to be a total scam.

  12. South Dakota only has one Costco in the whole state and that's at Sioux Falls.   Rapid City isn't even big enough to get one.   I think the entire Twin Cities area only has 3 but they do have one just up the road at St. Cloud.

Yuck is a really powerful word choice... curious what makes you say that?   Are there specific issues that worry you, or is there something about the concept that you find irredeemable?  There are risks involved, but if the details can be worked out, I don't see how this doesn't have the potential to be a win-win opportunity.

There are obviously pros and cons to this, but is a strong unified conference not appealing to you?

FB and Hockey schools (including affiliate schools) would need to have some rules and assurances in place to protect their interests, particularly in regard to league membership, TV/Streaming deals, revenue distribution, tournament formats, and significant policy or strategic decisions.

Patty Vivirito is retiring soon, so assuming football membership remains the same, it isn't like a bunch of MVFC staff would need to be laid off.  The MVC schools in the MVFC may not care all that much as the main priority of the MVC schools is basketball, despite sharing staff with the MVC, the MVFC IS technically a separate conf.

Hockey would benefit by having a larger voice when it comes to NCAA decision making and policy, and the league would benefit financially from several operational efficiencies that would reduce overhead.

MVFC and Hockey are powers at their respective levels - combine that with Summit basketball and it would potentially make a major difference when it comes to bargaining power for TV/Media deals, and the league sponsorships would likely be much more appealing to national sponsors (which I don't think any of the leagues really have).

We are better off sticking with the MVFC.   Strong conference and no startup headaches.   If you want something better, work on going FBS

The Summit League wouldn't need a new member right now if they sponsored FB.

Missouri Valley Conf teams benefit from the prestige of being associated with the best FCS FB conference (MVFC), despite Summit Teams doing all the leg work (winning).

Missouri Valley Conference employees operate the MVFC and they have done bare minimum, as the MVC and member schools are basketball focused.  They have done nothing to improve exposure for the league and they don't care enough to even host an in person media day before the season starts (compare that to what the NCHC and  Fenton/Summit League did.

The Summit would be 10x more stable if they sponsored Hockey and FB.  Summit League has National FB and Hockey powers but none play in the Summit - merging both would help a ton when it comes to TV/Media deals and league sponsorships, and it would help a ton to improve the leagues image and reputation.

Josh Fenton is a better commissioner than Heather Weems and Patty Viverito.

MVFC didn't explore TV options beyond ESPN before renewing/signing a new long term TV/Streaming deal with them.  Talk about negotiating from a position of weakness.. by choice.

    Yuck
