These 10 year forecasted growth estimates look promising.

There's a mistake though.   Jamestown had 15,700 in the actual 2020 census and the chart shows them at 500 less.   Jamestown is most definitely NOT growing, they are simply holding their own, nothing more.

Exactly. UND campus growth, older complexes getting torn down. The population data is accurate, and shows little to no new residents, so it's just a fact that it's just housing transitions far more than new resident growth. I would love to say Grand Forks is booming just like F/M, BisMan, SF, RC and other similar areas but its just not at all for some reason. Either way, housing upgrades are a boost to the community so that's good to hear.

A year or two back I bought up about GF being stagnant on growth and I got the same reception you did.   All estimates are showing no growth or a decline.  Now that said I think estimates tend to be a little on the low side, that way when the actual census numbers come in and are higher then the estimates people don't complain because they are higher then estimated even if the numbers aren't great.

The thing about Fargo's boom is it's been going on for 30 years.   They seem to just keep growing and it's actually even better in West Fargo and Horace.

i would refrain from using the word "quarterback' and "mr trey" in the same sentence......

Lance and Stick at least signed with teams for the coming year, albeit as backups.    Wentz can't even get a team.   Lance always struck me as a good QB, he just should have stayed in college longer and matured.      We'll see how good Miller is.  I highly doubt any of them ever start another game.

they aren't talking fcs summit football bc they are whoring out their fb program to any and every fbs conference out there but no one wants em but they are like the drunk in the corner unaware that they are the drunk in the corner of the bar with puke down his front.

So now it's just two of the dak4, plus you, talking Slummit football.   How about some links to those conversations.  I'll hangup and wait.

  5. 3 hours ago, SIOUXFAN97 said:

yes...the dak4 are the power of the mvfc....yes....the dak4 would love to play schools that priortize football unlike indaina state and murray state and a couple other mvc schools that have football also in he mvfc....

you have to get 6 schools...easier said than done tho...its risky to try to start summit football if the core 6-8 are looking eslewhere then feton would have to call the mvfc back and ooops ...sorry can we come back?????.....yes they (dak4) are talking/discussing it...it's just whether or not fenton wants to be the guy or the mvfc's little bitch.

I looked at bisonville and sdsufans and neither site had anything that I could find about Slummit football.   NDSU had a thread each on summit and MVFC happens and I didn't see anything about your pipedream.   All either thread talked about were transferring players.   Maybe you can provide a link to these "dak4" that "talking/discussing it".

i still don't think you know what your talking about...wowser.

So why can't you answer a simple question?   Are any of the other schools that supposedly involved in Slummit football even discussing it?  Stop deflecting.   Wowser!!!

I think you are missing the big picture if the summit league football happens.  If we can attract higher quality schools to the summit league which is the core league it is a good thing.  If it brings teams from Texas like ACU and Tarleton to all sports thats a good thing for the core sports and football.  What teams other then the Dakota schools excite you now ? Northern Iowa and Illinois state ? Murray state, indiana state and Youngstown sure don't. I'd rather watch ACU and Tarleton.  This move wouldn't just be about football but the bigger picture of strengthening the summit league.  If it didn't do that then I wouldn't be for it either.

So how do the other 3 Dakota schools feel about Slummit football?   Are they on board?   What about UNI?  I'm not seeing anything anywhere else.

if fenton screws this up the alternative is the return of the ncc 3.0...does that get you excited?

Well Slummit football sure as hell doesn't excite me.   Do you know any other MVFC schools that want to move to the Slummit?   I sure don't.   I haven't heard any of the other 3 Dakota schools even mentioning it.   I agree with Kab, I'd rather have the Big Sky.

I counted it twice and it is 6-5. I see Northern Iowa as ripe for a road win which would put us at least at 7-4.

You are right.  I transposed the numbers.   I meant 6-5.   Most humble apologies.

  10. I'm curious what the deal is with Spicer going to ASU.   I know he was a UND commit years ago and was at Duluth at one time.   So we didn't want him or he didn't want us?   I'm guessing the first.   I haven't paid a lot of attention to hockey, sorry.

wtf is fenton doing or waiting for....

adding tarleton and acu should be as easy as calling them and telling them to join the summit WITH football ( or do they like playing north georgia, west georgia, and central georgia???)

then call central arkansas, drake, or niu and say we got room for one more....!@#$ or get off the pot. first come first serve.

    summit>mvc>asun

Would someone tell me why anyone would want Summit football?   We're in the MVFC, which is way better than the Summit ever will be.   If we aren't happy with the MV we should have stayed in the BSC.

Pure rumor here folks. But Allegedly 3 or 4 of the hockey players got in a fight with the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) at there house last night. A chair was swung at someone. (Names I have heard were Swanson, Boisvert and EJ). Again I don’t have specific details, I just know something allegedly happened

Hopefully Jax knows what to do.

Both Fargo and GF.  For more exposure.  Catch some passes from Cam Miller.  Probably mire scouts there.

So did we do NDSU a favor by sending down someone to catch Miller's throws, or did they do us a favor by letting Belquist  strut his stuff?

I wouldn't be so sure. Wife is a UND grad. I think both sets of grandparents are in Detroit Lakes area. Sometimes that's a big deal with young kids.

Or sometimes you want to move to get further away from the mother in law.   It can go both ways with stuff like that.

who has been the most successful football player in the last 30 years from either UND or NDAC???

I certainly would agree.   The problem is that it was before many on this board were even born.   Same with our hockey glory days.

if you don't live in ND, NDSU football is dogshit

No chippa ever thinks of NDSU or any other ND University? college?  whatever the !@#!$ secondary education programs go by.  Jamesotwn?  Mary? Minot?  90% of the country has never heard of them.

The only institution that was ever on the map from our state was UND hockey

The reality check is that NDSU football has far surpassed UND hockey.   Even in our hockey glory days we weren't that big just because hockey is and always was viewed by too many as a niche sport.  Lots of hardcore followers but the average sports guy gravitates towards football.   It's going to take some pretty good years to build any nationwide excitement back into the program.   That's the reality.
