Rumor has it potato bowl and homecoming both on same date next year. Huge mistake imo

It's possible.  UND Homecoming 2018 has already been announced as Sept 22.  And I doubt they would have Potato Bowl against MVSU, which is a Thursday night game.

I think they can win 30 (regular + postseason)

    who's with me?

Me.  They have talent, experience and depth at every spot on the court.

  3. Nice start by Twins bullpen - 10 innings, 0 runs, 5 hits.  6 different guys have pitched at least an inning.

I don't understand Molitor w/ Buxton.  The guy was doing so much better at the end of last year batting at the bottom of the order.

  4. I put this news in the recruiting thread also.  Didn't see your post.

She was a very good HS basketball player although I don't think quite at the level of Freije or Klabo.  A very good interior defender: strong, athletic and good jumper - a natural shot blocker.  Under Pryor though, her athleticism has skyrocketed.  Depending on how rusty she is, she may not be able to bring her offensive skills up to D-I level. But I think she will be a beast under the opponent's basket.

They narrowly survived the initial cuts last summer, and were top of the list for these cuts.

I thought women's hockey was specifically off the table when the IAC met last fall.  Am I mistaken?

    Edit - Found this article

There, it is reported Kennedy told the IAC that UND was committed to sponsoring women's hockey.  So it would be reasonable if Idalski and staff would continue to think that.

How is it possible that Men's hockey only only has $3.7 million in ticket revenue? Taking out student tickets lets just say they average 7,500 a game (understatement), lets say the average ticket is $30 (understatement) that's $225,000 per game. 19 home games in the 15'-16' schedule, that's $4.275 million. That's going on the low end ($40 tickets Friday, $50 Saturday for adults). I know there are youth tickets for $25, but for a Saturday night game for a full house, it's easy $100,000 more than my per game estimate.

At least 90% of tickets at the Ralph are season tickets. $420 each (less for staff and students) for 16/17.

  7. UND is handling this exactly how they should. When you are on the defensive, you answer the questions that are asked, you don't volunteer info. You don't "get in front of things".

The one thing I've learned in my life is that if you have an opinion, hearing facts that run counter to that opinion rarely change your opinion. Facts won't matter to people who feel they got the shaft. The minority is venting right now but the vast majority fall into two groups.

    1. People who understand why it was      cut

    2. People who are saying "UND had women's hockey?"

    2.

Exactly. Explaining doesn't convert the aggrieved.

We need to cut sports. These are the sports we cut. We are very sorry for those affected. Thank you.

  8. Has hockey embraced the new name? No.

Does the team go a bit over the top on the Sioux thing? Yes.

    Does it hurt anything? No.

BTW, Men's BB is the only team that fully adopted the new logo and lettering on its uniforms.  But Jones never gets mentioned as a Fighting Hawks trailblazer. Why is that?

  9. It's a tough call for Faison. Has Jones grown as a coach or is this year an outlier?  He was just 34 when he was hired, with no previous head coaching experience. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm a helluva lot smarter now than I was when I was 35.  Last year I would have said let him go but I'm very pleased with what I saw this year.

I'm interested in what his players think of him. Anyone have any insight on that?
