  1. Who said all state institutions should be privatized? We have a poor graduation rate. Maybe other places are worse but that doesn't make us good. How is eliminating a layer of government mean we want bigger government. We've got a good person or two on the board and they vote along with the turkey's. The system is broke.
  2. It's been rare this year when the Sioux have been outtalented like CC did on a couple of those powerplay goals.
  3. Use this one. My editing was sloppy. I think it was a call that the devil incarnate (Don Adam) had to make, but do you agree that Guentzel embellished?
  4. What we do know is that despite the (1) fantastic increases in state funding and (2) massive increases in tuition prior to that the colleges are still (3) claiming to be woefully underfunded. There are three facts. My conclusion is that the more money we give them the worse they misspend it.
  5. It's up on Goons World. http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/2011/03/nelsons-checking-from-behind.html
  6. Reasonable people can disagree. My problem with the system has come about with the overwhelming greed that the system has showed in the last three legislative session. Prior to the last session the Board of Higher Education demanded a 60% increase in funding. And the more we give them the more they complain about being starved. Prior to that the tuition increases were unconscionable. Now the nickname debate is only related to that in that the Board of Higher Education ONLY cares what the administration says. They have no regard for the public and barely even care for the students. Of course that's my opinion, but I believe the facts support it.
  7. And things are far worse now. The entire system is drifting into an entitlement for the administrators and faculty leaving the students behind. And your point comparing this to dissolving the US constitution to dissolving the BOHE is just plain wrong. The difference is that in the case of he US Constitution the people have a chance to correct the mistakes of the congress. In fact last fall the voters completely changed over the House and made big inroads to the Senate. Now while I was happy about that change, not everyone here will be but at least everyone will admit that it's possible to change the direction of the government.
  8. He would have done that without the CC player tripping him by putting his stick between Frattin legs. There was no tripping call by the way.
  9. Another one of my moves that he stole. (Just kidding)
  10. I think he just got wore down scoring all those goals.
  11. How do you think that the current system has removed politics from the equation. The BOHE is highly political, the only difference is that their politics are operating without the countervailing pressure of what the public wants. I think we are far worse the way things are now. The colleges don't seem to have the students on their list of priorities. Despite massive increases in public support and tuition the schools are comparing themselves to starving children.
  12. Mac takes a check Walsh calls a phantom cross checking. I hate him. Edit, it was the second hit that they called so it probably was ok. I still hate Walsh.
  13. Nelson's shoulders did move as if he was giving a cross check, but it also looked like the guy flopped to his knees. I don't know how the refs don't call that though. Still we've been pulled down all over the place no call Shortastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Apparently Adam can call a major against us.
  15. You're gonna have to learn your clich
  16. Offside on the Sioux at 18:32 was not offside.
  17. Tim Walsh. #11. Just another piece of worthless ****.
  18. I love the non existent high sticking that led to a goal. Can't they get anyone competent? It's especially pleasant how the official was pointing at his eyes, presumably that he saw it, when it never happened.
  19. If it was a distraction it's only because he let it be. If he had fought to keep it he'd be a hero whether he won or lost. Even Kupchella, as empty a suit as he was, at least got some respect for getting on the right side of the issue when he had to.
  20. The only sure way is to support a constitutional amendment to change the format of the Board of Higher Education. In the short term we should be pulling back support for the NDUS legislatively. We can find a way to do it without impacting the students. For example a law saying that all university officials living in university owned housing shall pay market value rent for their housing. We have about 3 million dollars invested in those assets. I'd want at least 10% of that paid every year in rent to cover the upkeep and provide a return on our assets. I'd also say audit audit audit. The Chapman whitewash told others in the system that you can get away with pretty much anything.
