  1. Cenntenial H.S. star Tyler Pitlick will help fill out the USA U17 team that's travelling to Slovakia for the Vlad Dzurilla Tournament. His uncle played for the goofers, but they look pretty full for '09 now with the addition of Budish. Gormley will probably be drafted pretty high by the QMJHL, but he has shown some interest in the college route in the past. I'm tempted to add him to my blog's list of '92s, but I probably won't add any Canadians until I see where they land in the CHL drafts.
  2. Time will tell of course, but I think just the opposite is true. Oliver is a very hard worker and a very physical player. He could be a finisher in the WCHA (like a Parrish type) on the high end, and a solid defesive forward on the low end. Ravndalen is a speedy little skill forward, but SCSU has plenty of them lined up who'll do much better than Bryce. I see him a second liner in his senior year on the high end, and a bench player on the low end. Getting "burned" on Oliver depends on what the coaches expected from him. Personally, I think they're getting about what they expected. Motzko will go after some younger players like Oliver, but I think his bread & butter will be the players who develop later and slipped through UND and UMN grasp. Of Roe, Nodl, and Lasch, the youngest to commit of the three was Roe at 17y 8m.
  3. He was the tenth 1992 born player to commit to D1 college hockey.
  4. That's the second confirmation I've heard, so I took Clarke off my list of available '92s. Good pick up.
  5. Possibly just in the nick of time, I got Clarke listed as one of the '92s to watch on my blog. Please feel free to add your comments. http://www.collegehockeyrecruitexchange.blogspot.com/
  6. Who's RH? I mostly left Bucky out of the scenario, but in case you wanted to know, they'd have to trade Gardiner, Crandell, Barnes, and Pryor for Condon and Lofquist. What I've figured out is that bucky and susie do a much better job sniping out of the metro than St. Cloud does. I think the elite metro kids get stuck on that "hockey powerhouse" idea more than the outstaters do, though I can't complain about the job Motzko's been able to do with the hand he's been dealt. It's the same hand as the bullfrogs and the landcows, but Bob's just played it better.
  7. Okay, how about this: SCSU keeps Festler, Hanowski, and gets Schmidt back from the goofs, but they give Taylor Johnson back in return. Christian, Lee, Oliver, and Ravndalen go to the Sioux. LeBlanc goes back to duloot. The susies give back Mattson, Mattson, Fienhage, Fink, Gleason, and Kristo to the golden rodents, but they get back Ness and Youso. The ground squirels can keep Leddy, Dorr, Walters, Birkholz, Helgeson, Hansen, Martell, Scott, Schroeder, and Matson, but they have to give Condon and Lofquist to bucky and Saccheti to the bullfrogs. On second though, I don't think this deal works out too well for Motzko. The Huskies politely decline.
  8. ...and Schmidt would look great in Cardinal & Black!!! It's a regular swap meet around here!!
  9. I know I SHOULD feel the same, but I've still got a Goepfert hangover. I'm holding out hope that both Jase and Dunn will improve next year, but that's not likely considering the defensemen in front of them probably won't. The offense, on the other hand, should improve vastly... especially if Philly doesn't think Nodl is ready and he sticks around another year.
  10. Sounds good to me. I think this kid should consider himself fortunate to have the opportunity to play for the Sioux. I don't have to take umbridge to the fact that SCSU is probably not in the running either, as the Huskies seem to have put all their eggs in Mike Lee's basket.
  11. Joey Rewucki "One thing I would really like to do is play at a high-end college in the States," he said, "and then hopefully just take hockey as far as I can go."
  12. I'd love for SCSU to be in the running for Carle and there's a good chance that Motzko has been in touch with him. The chances of him playing for the Huskies are not as good. Grenier visited SCSU a while back. He's played well everywhere that he's played and he's definately WCHA worthy. Whichever team ends up with Luke's services will be lucky to have him. Based on where's he's from, I bet Alfieri ends up out east. Kostolansky should be serviceable in the WCHA. The real catch on Shattuck's team is Emersom Etem. I'm not a gambling man, but I'd bet money that the NTDP offers him a spot on next year's team. If the draft age was 15 he'd be a first rounder for sure. Disclaimer: Most of the above is my opinion only. The only facts stated are Grenier has visited SCSU and Alfieri is from out east (Buffalo, NY).
  13. NO WAY!! Count me as one who doesn't like to make exceptions. If he didn't want to stagnate his development by being the best player in the league for yet another season, he could have kept his NCAA eligibility open, accelerated his studies, and played in the WCHA like Toews and Kessel did. His fault, and yet another reason why college hockey is better than the CHL!!!
  14. No, it's Junior A, but it's probably the lowest of the bunch. Regardless, talent has come out of that league in the past. Every heard of a guy named Ryan Lasch? CJHL goaltenders who are currenty starting for their respective clubs include Louis Menard at RIT, Mitch O'Keefe at Ferris State, and Christian Boucher at Robert Morris. The latter of which has played in 99 of RMU's 122 total games.
  15. Have you been secretley reading my blog?
  16. Check my blog. Kent Patterson has been out due to injury much of the season, but he's probably the top prospect at this point.
  17. Here's my little stab at a recruiting blog. Is it worth it? http://www.collegehockeyrecruitexchange.blogspot.com/
  18. Yes, Nate does. Hey, he's 16. If you happen to know any 16-year-olds, it's probably easy to understand why the front-runner could fluctuate and the decision could take a while. P.S., I wasn't at the game, but I corresponded with Tom Reale who was at the game. Tom was the author of recap that was published in the St. Cloud Times. He didn't identify the UND coach by name.
  19. Not a rumor... a fact. Lucia really wants him. Judging by the kind of schools Nate and his siblings attend, a private college like CC seems to hold an advantage (Although CC isn't a Catholic college. Don't let Notre Dame get wind of this!). SCSU just has the hometown thing (a factor I fear is less important to Nate).
  20. I was referring to his breezers size!!
  21. Hands off Nate Schmidt, he's going to be a HUSKY!!!!
