You hit that on the head. They have the ugliest jerseys in hockey. I still don't think that I can cheer for the Wild despite Zach and Matt Cullen (a great guy) because: (1) ugly uniforms; (2) same fan base as the Gophers; (3) Kevin Gorg, Wally Shaver, PA, etc.

I agree. The Gophers were the better team all year. The Sioux had a great showing in the Final Five and accomplished a lot in the face of a lot of adversity. I am very proud of this Sioux team. However, in my way of thinking, the following are the highest accomplishments in order: 1. National championship 2. Frozen Four appearance 3. NCAA appearance 4. WCHA Title 5. Final 5 Title The Gophers have a Frozen Four appearance and a WCHA title, and now have a chance to get a national title. They have a good team and deserve to be there. I don't expect them to beat BC, but they are one of the few teams that has a chance against BC. If they do beat BC, they should have an easy time with Ferris State or Union.

He looks like Uncle Fester without the helmet too! When he was a squirt, some of the other parents and kids thought that he looked like Uncle Fester and had him put a light bulb in his mouth. True story.

Middle to late 1st rounder is not too shabby. Parise was No. 19, and I would take him even if only for a year or two.

It is Clarkson.

The NAHL is considered a stronger league than the MJHL, and Dickins and Davidson came from that league. Although the Sioux have not recruited from the NAHL, it is a good league and has turned out many D1 players. Just this last year, Denver had Dustin Jackson and Luke Salazar, UMD had Kyle Schmidt, Air Force had Jacques Lamoureux, CC had Gabe Guentzel, Notre Dame had Ryan Guentzel, BU had Chris Connelly (Jack's brother), Minnesota had Jacob Cepis, etc. When Denver won its last NCAA championship, they had 6 kids from the NAHL. The CCHL, Bemidji State, MSUM and UMD have historically had quite a few kids from the NAHL, so don't sell the league short.

I have 2 tickets for the Saturday night game against Denver. They are great seats, in section 105, Row K, which are about 10 rows up and where the Sioux shoot twice. $100 for the pair. PM me or call me at (701) 371-0195. Prefer to sell them to someone in the FM area because I live in Fargo. Tickets have been sold

I do expect a sweep by the Sioux, but even if MSUM is greatly improved and we are down a little, I still believe a worst case scenario is a split. I would not be satisfied, but at least I would have some expectation that this team will be fine and have a chance at finishing in the top half of the WCHA. Two points on the road in the WCHA is not necessarily bad, but like many Sioux fans who have posted here, I am concerned about this team even though it is early. Anyone who saw this weekend's games would have some of the same concerns. This weekend will tell a lot about this team. If the Sioux do get swept, I don't want to hear the excuses about how much improved MSUM is or that it is a tough place to play. The good teams do not get swept by MSUM, home or away.

I agree that Zacharias is good, but the Sioux did beat him twice last year at MSUM. The 2nd game, they put up 5 on him and he was pulled in the 3rd period. I realize that MSUM is improved, but it appears that they getting a lot of respect for a team with 1 or 2 NCAA appearances and very few finishes in the top 1/2 of the league. They may prove to be very good this year, but I'm not ready to say that they are a legitimate contender like Denver, CC and Minnesota. If the Sioux do not get at least a split, then I have very real concerns about whether this Sioux team is very good and with the team's recruiting. If the Sioux are truly getting the blue chip prospects like Minnesota, Michigan, Denver, etc., we should be able to beat teams like MSUM. MSUM does not win many recruiting battles with the traditional powers. I frankly expect the Sioux to sweep MSUM every time and anything less than 2 points is a major disappointment and a cause for concern.
