Vikes extend Cousins for a year to create roughly 15 million in cap space.

    Tom Brady no longer retired.

As somebody who doesn't follow the financial side of sports, can somebody explain to me how a $35 million contract (all guaranteed) actually frees up cap space?

Agreed. Both overturned goals seemed legit, but Spuds just got outplayed overall, especially in OT. Got the chances but did not capitalize.

I thought both goals were correctly disallowed.  I saw a kicking motion on the first, and the whistle definitely blew before the second one went in, even thought it probably shouldn't have.

Agree with you that the Spuds were outplayed for the the majority of the game.  The Spuds had the first 1.5 periods, I think, but I was shocked with how slow they looked for the rest of the game, especially since they were rolling four lines for at least part of the game.

Jody worked at WDAZ for a while, then WDAY before taking the Midco prep sports gig. We are in much better hands with him over David Brown, at least hockey wise. Not sure about football, basketball, or volleyball. Jake is so much more at ease without having to fill in words for a speechless Brown.

Is Jody replacing David Brown permanently, or just tonight/this weekend?

I completely agree that he’s much better.  Much easier to listen to and he seems much more comfortable.

Unfortunately last night one of the UND Aerospace students died during a solo training flight. Condolences to the friends and family of John Hauser.

I don't believe UND has had a fatal accident since I attended school in the mid 2000s.  That was also a night flight and maybe a little later in the year but the probable cause was loss of flight controls due to hitting a flock of geese.

    Very sad news.

2007 is the year that I heard.  Think of how many thousands (tens of thousands?) of flight hours out of UND in the last 14 years and to have no fatal accidents until now.  That's a pretty darn good safety record.  No consolation for the Hauser family and friends, though.

EDIT:  Turns out it's over 100,000 flight hours PER YEAR!  FY2021 set a new school record of 126,000 flight hours.  That's more than 1.4 million flight hours in the last 14 years.

Agreed. Although ss.com regulars don't sweat it. Onhockey.tv is still up too, often sites like that don't last season to season.

It won't be the same without Holden, either.

Why did Holden get let go?  I’ve never found anything that has given any reason.  Seemed sudden to happen mid-season.

They determined that Brodzinski kicked it, and then got his stick on it. That's the only way that goal can count.

Or they determined they couldn’t tell from the video one way or another.  And since it was called a goal on the ice, they had to leave it.
