Hrkac was ridiculous, it's too bad some of the younger people on here didn't see him play, he was so quick and agile he made everybody else look slow.
Tony Hrkac was at the game last night to see Trupps move first hand. He was pretty happy after the game, seeing the Sioux win.

Would have loved to see BSU pull it off, but they just didn't have the oomph (thats a word, right?).
-
there is no other word to to describe Trupps moves, other than amazing. What skill.

Siouxmama,
As long as I am not confusing you with someone else,do you at least get free pizza from your stores when you stay home to watch the games
No confusion there JFR. Yes, I can have free pizza...if you want to call It free, since I do pay for the product before it's made into a pizza

Congrats to Region 2 boys basketball player Philip Schanelic from Midway Minto on winning Mr. basketball 2011
Well deserved, Philip.

I was reading on fightingsioux.com that North Dakota is getting a blizzard/ice storm today and tonight. Hope everyone has fun tonight and makes it to and from The Ralph safely.
GO FIGHTING SIOUX !!!
GO SCARLET KNIGHTS !!!
We live in Thompson, really a quick trip, but with kids, and dogs at home, we decided to stay home and watch it on tv. Didn't want to take the chance of getting stuck in town. 1st game we've missed this year. It's really ugly outside right now, so I think we made the right decision.

Yes, it is as steep as it looks. And yes, it is also as empty as it looks.
Dan, are you saying you remember how steep it is?
And yes, I do have pictures.

I really like that Kid's game, he is solid... He looks more like a linebacker than a hockey player.
I agree Goon.
-
I agree.Not a big fan of it.
Proud to say my daughter made the all state team for the 2nd year in a row as a sophomore.
Good for her!

Good for #10 from GFRR, who didn't feel he had to dye his hair yellow.

Called the listed toll free number, and got locked into a ticketmaster loop. When I finally got to a live person the price/tcket was higher than merely ordering online through ticketmaster. Of course I cannot find a phone number for the exel ticket office, just the number that takes you to ticketmaster.
Try this number. 651-726-8240 and ask for Mickey. She does the tickets for the F5.

Not a jersey, but thinking about getting one of these in memory of the ol' Winter Sports Building...whatcha think? It's a "groundscrew jacket" with a vintage look/feel.
ummm...what's a ground screw?

I don't think Erik Johnson is as "bad" as you think he is Goon.
He will be now that he's on a crap team like the Avs though.
He did get a goal in the game last night against the Wings, didn't he?

Can I just say this....
After a few rough years in my life and a hiatus from Sioux Hockey (not a complete hiatus...I've just been a little quiet) it feels absolutely AMAZING to finally be back!!!!
You were just busy being a Bitch...Ice Bitch. And I mean that in the nicest way

I love the feature where we can go in and browse ticket sales to find seats. I myself have attended a half dozen games by utilizing this terrific site. I do have one suggestion to make the process more user-friendly. I'm not sure if the administration team or someone could be a keeper of this but could we delete or eliminate the posts that are "dead". For example, when someone sells their tickets or found their tickets, can that subject line be removed? Can we also remove ticket posts for games that are in the past? It seems that some of these "dead dates" can clog up the page and make it tougher to search for what is still for sale and what is not.
I know we're dealing with a small time hobby here so I can completely understand if this is a matter of manpower, just a suggestion. Thanks!
I've seen the thread subject have "sold" added to it once the tickets are gone. That is a good idea.

Agree, great memories. It was a favorite of mine but since I've been traveling for work, I hadn't been there in years.
And you haven't missed much...other than having lunch with me!

I could walk into the Ralph any time of the year blindfolded, and know I was there. Bavarian Almonds aren't unique, but the smell coming from inside the building is. It's one part sweet, savory almond, and one part vintage hockey. I can't describe it any other way. Even in July it smells that way, but on gameday it's especially there. What's funny is, I just placed a large order from the Sioux shop a month or so ago, and the best part about receiving my items was taking a big whiff in the clothes (I'm weird, I know), and smelling the sweet smell of The Ralph locked inside each shirt.
Whew! I thought I was the only one that loves the smell of the arena.
Minus the smell of the almonds. I love almonds, but cant eat them because of an allergy. I just can't stand the smell of the Bavarian almond stands. I hold my breath when I walk by it.

Is Simpson just a healthy scratch? Or isn't he healthy.

I remember the building too. Was always fun to see what would turn up on it next. I live in Thompson, and I don't remember seeing it there since we moved here, 12 years ago. I don't remember it's exact location, was it north of the Thompson exit?

I don't usually look in to the Football thread here on SiouxSports (I'm more of a hockey gal), but passing some time this morning I came across this thread. I just finished reading Marlins blog, and it seems to me that Marlin is one hell of a fighter. He has a wife and kids that he plans on being around for and by the looks of it, he will be.
Marlin, I thought the same thing about the Packers as you did. I was never a fan, but liked a couple players here and there. I read something not long ago about Aaron Rodgers, and that has turned my thoughts around about the team. I may not ever be a huge Pack fan, but I am a big fan of his. Also, after seeing a story on ESPN about the Matthews family, I'm a fan of theirs too.
I'll be sending prayers your way, and look forward to seeing more posts on your blog. Wishing you all the best.
Now, GO AND KICK CANCERS BUTT!!

Count me in!!! You can stay at my house before we head to the foreign land and afterwards, too. I have four bedrooms, so there's plenty of room! Mr. RWD can stay there and wait for our triumphant return if he so chooses.
Make sure you tell Mr. RWD to bring books, and DVD's (or a map to the local establishments). Sioux-cia has disconnected her cable, due to her being AWOL from GF for so long.

More importantly...I think the Wooger used it during a Sioux/Gophs game!
Yes he did. I remember him using that line.
-
There has to be more to this. "He was 'found' walking"?
What the hell! There must have been someone to give him a ride. Something isn't right here.
Anyway, best of luck to Danny, and I hope he heels fast and complete. Frostbite is ugly stuff.

Next time I'm hungrry for Italian food on a tuesday night, I will just hop on my private jet and blast off to one of these destinations.
Looks like GF and Olive Garden will "have to do" for me.
