I'm loving this, lifelong Blackhawks fan, and love the Sioux just as much, I have a feeling this new Hawks era will be incredible.
-
Heard this on the radio this morning. Confident he can get through it though.

I didn't hear anything wrong, I noticed that in that pronounciation key that they had Genoway wrong, he is not like his brother who like JEN o way, he likes GEN o way.

Finally able to comment on tonight's game. First things first, it feels great to have hockey season back. Glad to see the first goal go to such a good guy like Kaptain Kaip, also glad to see the hat trick, someone has been working hard in the offseason, also noticed his faceoffs were really good. I think after the 1st period Hak went into the locker room with a piece of paper and said, "This color is white, we are wearing this color tonight, you pass to the same color, there is your first lesson of the season." The second and third were night and day. We got two bad bounces in the first, and lets hope there out of our way for the rest of the season, I'm feeling the bounces will fall our way this year after seeing goals like Kaip's 2nd and 3rd, Oshie's, and Bina's or Genoway's shot that took the cap off the water bottle. Never seen 3 goals in :49 seconds, and who else has. LaPoint is a skinny boy, but that will change after a year in the REA weightroom. Anyone find it a little sad to see a new person in a #19 jersey, anyone think some of Trupp's manerisms resemble a certain Prpich? Anyone think it was a bogus attendance the REA announced tonight, 11,007? Anyone think Hak treats today like a kids first day of school, fresh haircut, new suit, new shoes, organized desk, anxious for what lies in the year to come? Bike is not as good as last years, glad to hear some new music, and looking forward to a great game next week, can't wait to see this team after a week of practice, when was the first official practice?

Not a Sioux player, but very surprised to see Jack Skille get sent down
-
I liked the comment about Chris Porter and ZPar under the players section
-
I heard a high of 49 degrees next Sunday

Someone get a hold of Greene, he will take care of the situation ;)

Maybe some one might realize that hanging skates high above a skater and behind them, where they won't be looking isn't the smartest idea.

Found this on the Hawks forum

Appears to have happened early this morning, no one seems to know he was sick, but many early morning news articles seem to have been written before it happened http://blackhawks.nhl.com/ How will the Blackhawks due in the short term, and long term with this occuring?

Stu Bickel is a freshmen at UMTC, he is wearing number 4 this year, there is a hint in that....
-
I was actually thinking for when the Gophers came here TJ Oshie > Stu Bickel Let me know if you figure it out
-
Don't know if this was posted, but a couple things Saw this morning front page of NHL.com had a story on Kane and Toews, pretty much the Hawks preview Good quote from Kane about Toews
-
When I talked to former Sioux great and Blackhawks analyst Troy Murray over the summer he said he believed Toews would be the Hawks go to guy by December
-
Sparky??? I can't remember

Yes, Wirtz will not televise home games because he believes by not televising the games it will increase attendance. What he doesn't understand is that you can't market a product that people don't see. You would think he would figure it out by now, after 10+ seasons of this. Also, if the game is on in a national channel, it will be blacked out in the Chicago area.

Toews first preseason game tonight. Playing Center on the 2nd line is what is predicted. Also noticed that former Badger players Burish and Dowell are together on the 3rd line. No TV information though. EDIT: Also noticed that Porter is in the Blues lineup tonight

I do not like the system, and believe that if they are to use this system they need to offer multiple packages. I even emailed the Student Body Pres expressing my concerns with no response. It was over the summer, so his workload could have not been that high, which dissappointed me. I know they worked hard on perfecting this system, but they also said they would talk with the student's and I feel that wasn't done, and they did let me down. They need to offer packages like they did today, but at the same time add in lower bowl both night tickets, lower bowl reserved seating areas, and even half season packages. Not only would this greatly increase revenue, increase attendance, but also more people would be targeted and happy. I did get my tickets, and they were paid for by 1:01, but still don't think it is fair, and would like to see camping brought back. They say the Ralph won't allow it, but we now own a rather large parking lot adjacent to the student entrance (Wellness Center), why can't we camp there and make an organized walk over on a Sunday morning. EDIT: I also wish the student ticket system was like the Dave Matthews Band Warehouse policy,as stated below

Were one month away, its time to get this started, what do we all think for the coming 2007-2008 season for the Sioux, WCHA, and College Hockey in general. EDIT: Also any Hobey predictions for the year.

I still think just dropping the "fighting" from our name would be a huge step in the NCAA's view, ever think that the two schools that have the most problems with their names each have "fighting in their name; fighting sioux, and fighting illini. Maybe that is a reason they think it is hostile?

Ran into Troy Murray today at work, looks good and is the nicest guy. He had a lot of good things to say about the Blackhawks this season. Better yet, he believes Toews will be the Hawks go to guy by December. Lastly, he asked, Is it true they opened and another red pepper? His only response to me was, it will never match the one downtown.

Where is the most unexpected place you have run in to a UND student /

At dinner with my girlfriend's family and their closest family friends. The father asked me where I went, and the rest is history I guess. His only question, along with many others who I work for who have been to GF for business, "Is the Red Pepper still around." -
My thoughts and prayers with all involved and the city of Minneapolis. I'm proud that we as a community can put sports aside for such a sad situation, especially when this incident occurs so close to the University of Minnesota.

Unbelieveable: Forum editorializes against Va Teacher

If someone insulted either of my cities Grand Forks, or Chicago, I'd be upset. I'm don't just mean "o that town sucks." But insulted the people or its standards or beliefs, I would most likely return fire, or at least want to show that speaker the truth, and even try and get the speaker to publicly retract statements. I understand the people of Fargo are angry, I would also. Fargo is a great city, aside from being Bison fans, and sadly people in the country do not realize that. I had never heard about the Dave Barry incident (if you could call it that). But only in Grand Forks, would we as a city turn around and 'kill someone with kindness' as my mother would say. I do truly love GF.
