  1. Since when is it illegal or criminal for the Und president or any BSC president to express an opinion to the media. For the most part, they have simply expressed the opinion that keeping the nickname could be detrimental to Und. You seem to havea lot of opinions, whats the difference. It seems like your president is trying to save you from yourself, even though i know that you would much rather fall on your sword.

As for what full sanctions would entail? I dont think you want to find out.

Look at what happened to Ohio State, basically nothing. One year of no bowl games. Big deal they will be back next year. To me that is a hell of a lot more serious then a nickname. But the NCAA wants to show they have some power so they are trying to push around a small school in North Dakota. That is what this is all about, they want more power. If it was actually about nicknames, then FSU and Utah would be in the same boat as UND. It is power and money, and some schools have more power.

  2. Trent Dilfer was by no means a great QB and while his career was disappointing for a 1st round pick, he was 100 times better than Tim Tebow will ever be.

Damn why you hate Tebow so much? Even the experts are saying that over the past 6 or 7 weeks he has gotten better as a passer and his motion is getting better. If you dislike his relegious views that is one thing but I am beginning to think you are the has been Merill Hodge.

I remember another quarterback that they said could not throw the ball and would not have a great career in the NFL and all he was is a running QB. Michael Vick proved those people wrong. Tebow is still technically a first year player. He beat the Vikings with their new star. What does he have to do to get some respect.

  3. As a Broncos fan I have to say that I Love how Tebow is playing. I think he is hard and fun to watch all at the same time. I keep telling people at least I am not a Vikings fan. If Tebow works with Elway in the off-season and learns to be a better passer, not great but better, I think he can be a very good QB. But I love the way he plays.

  4. Anybody ever been to the Toasty Beaver? It's the only place a friend of mine who always goes for the Gophers series talks about when I ask him where to go. Me and some friends are looking for places to hang out before and after Saturday's game, and probably watch some football on Sunday before that game.

Been in a few toasty Beavers before. But that might be something different then you are talking about.

  5. No different than Sioux fans having the nerve to defend Frattin's hit on Wehrs a couple years ago.

Which time for Wehrs? I know the one time he got hit, I thin it was last year was a great end of the period hit. Time still on the clock, it was a good clean hit. I have watched it several time this week to get ready for this weekend. Go Sioux

  6. Here is a partial list:

Hak took over the premier college hockey program in the country seven years ago and has not only maintained, but added to the program. He has a .653 winning percentage in those 7 years. He's been a 6 time Spencer Penrose finalist and taken the Sioux to the Frozen Four 5 times. He's won 2 of the last 3 MacNaughton Cup's and last year had the 3rd winningest season in program history. Last year he had a program record 16 student athletes on the WCHA All-Academic team and 5 of them were WCHA Scholar Athlete's.

Please list your credentials/accomplishments over the last 7 years.

He also has a Hobey Baker winner and a finalist in Frattin(He should have won it)that is huge to me, the best players in college hockey.

  7. Indeed you are correct......but then again, UND still stole the logo from Notre Dame.....so that probably would not stop them....LOL wink.gif

UND did not steal the interlocking from Notre Dame. UND has it trademarked and Notre Dame uses it with permission from UND and pays some royalties as I have heard it. But UND owns it.

  8. UND fans travel the best, but they are far from being the most cordial to visiting fans. Your problem is that your "bad fans" are REALLY bad.

And get over the 20 protestors that would come protest UND's nickname.

Why get over the 20 idiots it adds to the stupidity of going to a game there.

  9. Another GREAT comment by on of our GREAT hockey (only) fans.

Why I do prefer hockey all together over any sport, professional sports included. I sat at home thursday and watched the football game on TV, so I guess there goes your only hockey statement. Are you a football only person? I was making an observation, you can disagree, but keep the name calling to yourself.

  10. I'm not saying they're not good fans for the Sioux.

    I'm saying they're dickweeds.

that makes st. clown fans what? I realize I am biased but I have also witnessed a lot of fan bases in The Ralph and I have been to other arenas where I have had stuff thrown at me and my wife I have had people yell at my 5 year old son and call him names for being a Sioux fan. I have also been to the Ralph and been around other teams fans and had a great time with them. So my point is you do not know Shi%$

  11. Hmmm, let me ponder would it better to keep the name and have no conference for the majority of our sports, be blackballed by some schools and have attendance that would rival high school football or would it be better to be in the Big Sky and have something to play for, have top quality teams playing in GF and get folks excited? Hmmm, this one is tough.

You do know, 7>5, that UND isn't in the Big Sky until next year?? You deserve to get ripped.

Yes I did know that and as I said it was just my opinion and I know I was going to get ripped. So even after they join big sky do you believe that attendance will go up? Even if the football team is getting pounded and losing almost every game(which does typically happen when you move up). And my point was that I did read posts on SS.com where people could not get rid of the nickname fast enough to get into that conference. I just do not see much changing? I hope I am, but Thanks for all the kind words towards me.

  12. No I know that they are not in the Big Sky yet, I am just very surprised that the attendance is no poor for a home opener. What I meant by "Sold-Out" is that, I heard a lot of people saying just get rid of the name to make sure UND gets into the Big Sky conference, but when you can't sell out your home opener what is the point. Now I watched the game and cheered for the Sioux to win last night but I guess I was just a little shocked by the lack of attendance. Oh and I am quit versed in subject of the nickname issue.

  13. I understand that MTU has won NCAA Titles. But all of them are from before I was born and they haven't had a winning season in almost 20 years. Nevermind the fact that they're out in the middle of nowhere. I understand that we stink the the tournament. Please beat that dead horse some more. I understand that you guys don't like us. You've actually surpassed the Gophers for my least favorite team/fanbase. But you simply cannot tell me that MTU would make more sense than SCSU in the NCHC.

Look at this...I don't want any part of your stupid little conference, but you have me arguing why we should be in over other teams. lol

UND's fan base is bad, are you kidding me. The Sioux faithful are the best fans in college hockey!!! THere is no denying it. They travel the best and they treat fans the best in their home arena. I have been to St. Cloud for games and never surprised by the fans, from the jack wagons outside telling me I am a racist to the a-holes inside that are just plain rude. If you want to find bad fans I suggest you look at UMTC or Michigan(by far the worst fans).

  14. 13,500 with suites

So I heard all this complaining during the nickname debate about getting into a new conference and how great it would be mainly for a sport that can't sell out a home opener and is 4,000 seats empty for that opener. Someone please tell me again why it was a good idea to sell-out for that Big Sky conference? I know people say it is not just about hockey but in this case, hockey drives the money. I just think it was the wrong attitude to take. I also now I will get ripped for this but oh well.

  15. Its so nice to see that Moo U has moved on and is enjoying our nickname issue. Remember what goes around comes around.

What a bunch of Losers!!! Do they have nothing better to do. WOW, guess they are just waiting to take their wives out of the barn for a feeding!

  16. The Norsemen (Norse for short) has been my leader in the clubhouse for a long while. I really think I could get to like that one.

I went to a High School in Denver that was the Norsemen, as a Norwegian I do not like that name is abusive to my people.

    Nevermind I would be honored!!!
