Since I got my letter from the NCAA confirming that I received tickets for this years frozen four. I am staying at some friends house wednesday and thursday and then at the Red Lion DT for the next two nights. It should be a lot of fun an di am looking forward to it. My wife is going for the first time this year.

I am not opposed to giving them some merchandising revenue. If they will continue to support the name and logo. But no waffleing of the money comes back to the University. But I think 10% might be a little high. Maybe 3-5% would be better. But I think that would be a reasonable solution.

I have a thought about all this. I hope we get to keep the nickname, but here is a side that I am thinking about. Maybe Myles Brand leaves the NCAA to attempt and pursue a bigger office. Then the new head of the NCAA says that this policy is ridiculous and allows UND to keep the nickname without tribal support. I am just saying anything can heppen. I also think that UND would have never agreed to this had they not thought they could get an agreement in place.

Did I read the box score correctly, tech only had 13 shots on goal and Lammy let in 3. That is bad. They need to start playing and getting some goals. I still think this team is going to do well, it is early in the season. But you can't let 3 of 13 in. With that kind of percentages we are not going to beat anyone.

I guess I feel very disappointed that they did not fight to the end. If they were going to agree to this why did they go to court at all. I think that the NCAA should have to do more then formally say they are not "Hostile and Abusive". And if the name is not "Hostile and Abusive" then we should ahve never been on that list at all, therefore we would have not been in this mess at all. So my question is still. Why?

I have always said if it has to change go "Cavalry" I think that would be great.

I think that they will keep that logo untill all this is decided. I think that if we gain tribal approval we will maybe commision a artist from one of the namesake tribes to design a new logo.

I can kinda see this point. We live very much in a "what have you done for me lately" society. Why not ask the tribes that question and point out the numbers more to them and show them in discussions that as easy as we fund these programs, that funding can also go away. I am not saying it should be I can see that point.

I think another school was put on a "watch list" it is a 5 year deal or something. I do not recall all the details. I am just saying that would be one way the NCAA would be able to get out of it. Of course I agree there should be a substantial amount of time built into any deal to avaoid this coming up again in the near future, 50 years sounds good.

I do not disagree with you at all. I think that the settlement will be just that. The the NCAA drops everything and puts UND on some sort of watch list, to save face and to make it look like they got something out of this whole thing. Go Fighting Sioux, Fighting Sioux forever!

I think that Jahnke will want to have a jury decide the case, but I also think that he will not allow the NCAA to expand their case. I think that the Fargo Forum will win their case and the documents will be openned. I really think that the NCAA is reaching and if they lose today on the expansion of the case, I feel they might look for towards a settlement.
