  1. tidbit on Irmen from the trib:

The Wild is continuing talks with Minnesota Gophers forward Danny Irmen, and a contract could be announced this week. With the possibility that Randy Robitaille's strained right knee could keep him out for the rest of the regular season, Irmen could make his NHL debut in a Wild sweater before the April 15 deadline.

  2. Kessel is deserving. Playing an entire year against D1 opponents before becoming a freshmen at the UofM really helped him adjust to the WCHA. Had he played against Class A high school opponents, I suspect it wouldn't have been as special for him but he probably would have scored more goals.

  3. i know why he will play for the gophers..........................

BEACUSE ITS BEEN HIS DREAM TO WEAR THE PUKE AND PIZZ COLORS SINCE HE WAS A LITTLE BOY :lol:

money talks, just remember that..im guessing he plays 1 year but if they want him in the pro ranks then the little dream of his is out the door

You'd think someone with accelerated schooling would have the brains to set the bar a bit higher where their dreams are concerned...

  4. My cousin's sisters brother's girlfriend knows this guy and they said there's a good likelihood that Lucia will exercise the buyout clause giving him the right to change the arena name to Mariucci West.

Yep, Mariucci of the West, home of "Mercyhurst of the West"!

  5. Ok, after reading this thread I am convinced that there is absolutely no work getting done in Sioux Country this week.

this week, my work is being done by an illegal immigrant because its a job I don't want to do and he does.

  6. Our listeners'll be surprised to learn that you're a soft-spoken young man, Killer.

    Yes, I am.

I was watching some kids play hockey the other day, five- and six-year-olds, little mites.

One kid said "I'm Killer Carlson."

He picked up his little stick, and he creamed that other kid.

How do you feel about that, Dave?

Well, Jim, the way I see it is, the kid probably would've done it anyway.

  7. Hmnnn...someone was watching the same St Cloud State game that I was a few weeks ago, huh?

You are correct. I had to watch because I made the same claim to a Gopher buddy of mine and he claimed Ryan scored from all over the place against St. Cloud (which he did not).

  8. Not sure if that's the fairest assessment, as Potulny really improved in all areas of his game over the course of the season. He played a lot of penalty kill, was a force on the power play (obviously), and played great 5-on-5 hockey.

Too bad he's not a finalist, but you can't really argue with the 3 guys up there. Looks like Carle is going to win, which probably would have happened had Potulny been a Hat Trick finalist anyway. I have no problem with that.

I agree his overall game has improved but it's still a rather fair assessment. Thanks to FSN we've all gotten to see this truth exhibited over and over except when Mn goes to AA. You'd really be convinced if those games were on TV!

  9. Voters probably felt Potulny needed to spend more time working in other areas of the rink and not just the left circle waiting for a pass. He was completely neutralized when HC shut down that passing lane.

  10. I just wonder about funding for repairs when the facility begins to show age. A couple of the seats I had for the regional were coming apart and in dire need of repair. I suspect it will be rather expensive to replace leather seats (too bad PETA). Hope the seating over time doesn't regress to what they have at the Moorhead Sports Center!

By the way, the only implosion at the Ralph was the gophers (sorry again PETA)
