I will be interesting to see how his off ice character plays out in his hobey consideration. His past mistakes are part and parcel of what makes his character so admirable now. I think it should be a big plus.

Brothers have been a big part of Sioux tradition. How about Fathers and Sons? Who were the highest scoring Father/Son pairs? There's probably a Johnson F/S combo that scored a lot, and I know Chorney's dad played. And since things are going to get a little slow around here in the next week or two, any father/brothers combos? Not talking about the Appalachia kind of father/brother combo . . . leave that for the gopher fanbase.

I guess Hak will have to double-shift him and keep him on the ice for PPs come Tourney time.

Odd game. The Sioux showed great control overall, but they missed a lot of passes and shots that they wouldn't usually miss. Eidsness showed that same . . . what?--lack of concentration? that bites him so often, but made some big saves too. Kristo really controlled the puck in the zone--a little Kane-like. He can be a real force for the Sioux if he just finds a rhythm on that last connection. Did Tim say the Sioux have never lost when Lammy scores a goal?!

Any other Roseau brothers to pair them up with?
-
Why do you say Chad could have been better that Greg J or Jeff P? With only 23 pts in 3 years--what was holding him back?
-
Gotta ask. Lowest scoring brother team in UND history? Maybe we let that one go.
-
If that's true, and if Hoogsteen/DePiero/Thunder Bay is the closest competition, GF gets the brothers award for total points. Jeez, Panzers' 372 is a lot of points. They must have put up some scary numbers at Central.
-
Yeah, that's right for the high number, but I was looking for the town that had four bothers with over 450. With the Panzers up there at 372, though, you'd think another GF pair would get them up over 450.
-
I had Thunder Bay in mind. Was thinking DePieros though, not Johnson. I didn't know Greg had a brother at UND. Amazing how much talent we've gotten from Thunder Bay. Genoways are from Morden. The Sioux have also done very well in that little area. Davidson is also from Morden, and I think the Sioux have had other players from there. Eddie was from Carman. Dustin Penner was from Winkler--was he on the Sioux radar after playing in Bottineau?
-
OK, since that one's answered : Two pairs of brothers from this town scored over 450 points?
-
Wow. 4-2-- Trupp, Frattin, Genoway scoring? You have some investment thoughts to share?
-
Soux are being outskated.
-
That second goal was from so close in, I'm not sure you would call it a point shot. Breakdown of some kind there.
-
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! How could you???

Reading this is a little like hearing Cousin Eddie Griswald boast about how much money and power the Rockefellers have. And judging by tonight, not much.

Didn't say they weren't better than solid--just not as elite as many like to portray. All top tier Universities and Colleges can claim their applicants self-select. But Columbia College, for example, had an admission rate of less than 9% a year or two ago. HYPS are lower. Students to all those schools self select, yet their admission rates are far lower than ND. Not saying admission rates are a very good measure of the quality of education, either--I don't think they are. I have no complaints about the education UND gave me. If I could have learned more, it was because I was stupid or lazy or both. But when it comes to the kind of bragging rights that go with statistics, meaningful or not, there is a bit of a gap between ND and some of the schools they often liken themselves to.
-
Not exactly awesome. A 30% admission rate is good, but not even close to the elite schools Notre Dame supporters like to associate themselves with academically.

T'giving morning. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Among other things, I'm grateful for what you all bring to this site, the game of hockey in general, and the rich hockey tradition at UND. And Spirko, wherever he is.

Gotta love that archaic western way of looking at things. It's all one. Hockey

Well said. How about this. Michaelson is a good kid and a great recruit we did not have the fortune to get. Minnesota's gain and our loss. But the minute he slithers into that maroon jersey, he's a lizard.

Goalies are strange and live in a world with different rules. You should not expect anything about them to make sense. Leave them alone to their posts, crossbars and other strange friends.

I'm a UND grad and Sioux fan who lives near Madison and goes to games there when I can. It's a great hockey atmosphere, even for Sioux fans, in my experience. And from my experience in both GF and Madison, most Wisconsin fans know their hockey too. I'll always root against them when they play the Sioux (or compete against them in any way), but they have a great hockey tradition and know how to have fun at the rink.

I keep expecting to hear Rod Serling's voice.

Mono can be a real bugger to shake in a sport requiring top conditioning. Not the long lasting effects of a concussion, but sometimes just as troublesome, short term.
