The only question that arises from this topic is who has a chance to beat Red River? I see them going undefeated and having 2 finalists for Mr. Hockey. I don't think anyone in North Dakota will play a close game with them.

theres is no way alex simonson doesnt play in the ushl because he has already played 2 games for chicago. you guys who dont think hes gonna make it are stupid.
Yea him and his 19 points in 19 games against arguably the worst North Dakota high school hockey talent pool ever are going to fit in real well down in the USHL.

Goes about 6-0 185. Once ate the bible while water skiing. Feeds his babies shrimp scampi and showers in vodka. Overall GREAT athlete. Knows how to score and is a great playmaker. Not a very smooth skater, but not slow. He is'nt overly aggressive, but is not scared to go in the corners. Put him with some other talented Forwards and he will produce.
Ryan Ladouceur is also playing with the FM Jets after the year. Alex Simonson with the Chicago Steel and Nick Schaffer possibly playing USHL or FM Jets.
Simonson playing in the USHL after the season? Thats a joke.

I agree. I have a friend that played at Central under Tarek Howard and they used to allow "Locker Boxing". 2 players are picked and you go at it until you drop! Not sure if things have changed at Central. Did Bina play under Howard at Central?

I went to the RR-Central game tonight and saw absolute domination by the Riders. The Knights really weren't in the game at any point but that didn't stop them from playing dirty. I was embarrassed to see Central play that way and a little disappointed to see the Riders retaliate. I can't blame RR, however, as their players kept their cool for the majority of the game and stayed that way until Central players decided to start fighting at the very end. It was pretty obvious that they instigated all of this, as there were numerous times after whistles when their players started shoving and RR players just skated away, deciding that winning 7-1 was retaliation enough.
I guess there's no one to blame for Central's behavior but their coach, Bina. As anyone who follows area hockey knows, his teams have been notoriously dirty and it seems that he either seems to not care about or doesn't have enough control over his players to stop it. Its sad to see how far that program has fallen.
They have also been notorious for overachieving. His past 3 teams have probably had less talent than West fargo and yet they have been somewhat dangerous. A couple of 3rds and one flame out but that team probably had comparable talent to a Whap or Shanley so you can't fault him for that.

8 or so minutes into the 3rd is when rr scored. One goal was on an empty net. the other was of course legit. Were you at the game? Did you see them play or just the highlights on the news? RR is the best team in ND, maybe MN...but that doesn't mean that they can't be beat.
Our goalie that game was a SOPHMORE starting his 3rd game this season....and trust me, south may not get it this year, but next year and that year after SOUTH will be the dominant team in ND. Our sophmore class this year is VERY good, have been playing since grade school and give them a year full in the gym and it will be very fun to see them every home game at the colliseum.
btw, RR as a school is overrated. Hockey and Tennis...congrats....and even the tennis team isn't a clear shot at winning state next year

On a side note:
North might be the worst team in the history of North Dakota High School Hockey. Wahpeton has a legit shot at these guy if they get them in the play in game. I've seen peewee B teams that could beat these guys.

I am thinking there is something to that statement. I went to the game last night in Grafton the reffing was horrible. I told my buddy that the Knights got homered by the Refs last night. The Refs were worse than WCHA officials. There were a couple of obvious calls right in front of the refs that were not made.

considering the wild are apart of MSE the wild ticket holders get first dibs i know that. and if they have plenty of tickets to go around why does the AA championship game sell out?
Ok, You're right the game is already sold out!! You are right about this one. No one can get tickets the day of the championship. The people like me that stood in line right before the championship game are fictional characters that just didn't exist.

Certain amount go to each school, then the rest are divided up amongst season ticket holders for the wild and some are reserved for people who have gone to the tourny for years. I know people who still hold there tickets from 1956!
This doesn't make any sense: "then the REST are divided up amongst season ticket holders for the wild." According to what you just said the only people who can attend are students from the schools, wild ticket holders and people who have went to the tournament for years.
Ok, so there isn't any confusion. You can buy tickets the day of the championship. They don't go on-sale till the day of the championship and they have plenty of tickets to go around.

HOLD ON! How close are you talking here? Because last time I checked the State Hockey tournament is pretty close to a holiday in MN! How often can you say that a high school game is aired on TV on a regular basis? (don't say that ND doesnt have the power to do so because they do, there is no demand for it)
You can't get a seat at the Minnesota Class AA championship game unless you buy from a scalper, that game is sold out for months! For the North Dakota's high school tournament, you can walk up and buy a ticket that day!
You actually can't buy tickets ahead of time for the Minnesota tournament. You actually have to walk up and buy a ticket that day. Therefore the game isn't sold out for months and you just completely lied to everyone on this board.

I think Malone is a solid 2 way F. He'll be a Kaip type player down the road--solid. I agree with Miller. Biggest disappointment this year. Loads of talent but if constantly looks like he is loafing. And since I'm rolling, I don't think Zajac got Hak's message when he sat him on Fri. in Denver. He gives you nothing on offense. Some will say that he wins lots of draws, but that's like saying a pitcher throws strikes but has an ERA over 7! The couple of time Forney has played i thought he looked ok. Davidson...have no prsonal idea. With the current lines, outside the DOV line, there is no consistant threat offensively. Like I have said before, when JPL has the save percentage and GAA he has, this team should not be .500 in the WCHA! The need to find some way to get more consistant offensively.

Going by the caliber of Wurden, the only notable Defense I can think of on RR is Ladoucer/Galbreath, moreso Ladoucer. FS had a pretty good D core last year past Wurden.

Yea I feel bad for the kid. He is being compared to other great goalies from recent years and it isn't fair. He definitely isn't in the same league as a Moreland or a Diechert and I think everyone knows that.

If you take Moss off the Pats and put him on the Packers, would anyone disagree that their records would switch? Moss has more to do with Brady than Brady has to do with Moss. Pats would at worst be a 3 loss team without Brady. The Packers without Favre would be no more than a 3 win team.
Favre gives the Packers a chance to win every football game. He has very little to work with, Donald Driver is very average but looks like an all-star. The only reason their running game is some what effective is because they pass so well.
On the Moss issue, Why would Brett Favre want Moss so bad if he was such a cancer? I trust his judgement.
Favre would be absolutely deadly if he had Moss.

That's pure nonsense. If Moss was half as good as he's being made out to be he would have produced in Oakland. Regardless of how many games they lost he should have been able to compile some gaudy numbers by the simple virtue of being the only talented member of their offense. If Moss were to get hurt the Patriots would still be the odds-on favorite to go all the way, but without Brady they would be toast. Soon enough when the going gets tough Moss will show his true colors and quit on his team. It may not happen till next season but it will happen. Once a cancer always a cancer.
Can't produce when you get triple covered and no one else can step up.
Wes Welker is sometimes not even covered, Donte Stallworth should get double coverage but sometimes doesn't even get covered. The fact that they roll people has more to do with Moss than anyone. He plays hard (ask his teammates), He runs crisp routes, His blocking is surprisingly strong for someone with his build.
Obviously, you have never seen a graphic of how a defense lines up when he is on the field as opposed to how they line up when he isn't.

I have also talked to many members of the team from last year and they said the best team won the state championship. The team you are probably talking that you played for was the Red River JV squad that was average at best. You have no idea what you are talking about and need to quit posting.
I was obviously talking about the 06 Championship. (That South Won). I thought I made that very clear. Our Red River alumini also don't like Riders06. He was always coming into our locker room after practice and looking for things to post about on here. He never played hockey and if I remember correctly doesn't have a lot of friends.
I again apoligize on behalf of Red River, These two guys were never part of our program and I hope no one thinks this is how our program thinks.

You must be drunk. What Fargo South Dream team are you speaking of. I'd be making references to the 03' Central team or the 01' RR team. But you make a assertion about the FS Dream Team...comical
I obviously played for Red River during that 06 season and have talked to my teammates about this subject a lot. The fact was South was just flat out better than us, I'll be the first to admit it. Ask anyone that was in the locker room after the championship and they will tell you that we should have lost by a lot more than we did.
Hopefully people realize that Soohockey15 isn't liked by any of our Red River alumini, he is one of those kids who wishes he could have been out there but just didn't quite have what it took and just can't accept it. It's people like you who give our program a bad name. No wonder so many people across the state are starting to respect programs like South and GPR more than ours.
I would like to apoligize on behalf of the whole Red River program. Don't think this clown can speak for our program.

Remember when High School Hockey meant something? Ever since the USHL started to cherry pick the best players out of North Dakota HS Hockey, the talent has become watered down.
I believe there should be an age limit that only allows HS seniors to leave for the USHL if they so choose. Leaving HS when you are a sophomore to play in the USHL is ridiculous. They are still kids!

wow espisito falling with cheranov, hope the wild or coyotes get either, there must be big character issues with espisito and the russia thing is hurting cheranov, he should just flee the country like malkin did, both of these guys are big time players to me...
Not a shock to this poster, he has been over-hyped since he played at Shattuck. It is nice to see that 19 GM's agreed with me.
Now I'm not sure why Billy Sweatt went as late as he did.
