  1. Trupp
  2. Not negative - just a prediction. He very low in the food chain of Sioux forwards. Not everyone can play - that's just a fact. Because he doesn't crack the lineup doesn't make him a bad person/player. He knew when he came what his role would be. Even if he doesn't crack the lineup he can keep the other forwards honest during practice. Hextall, Lammy, and Malone all can fill the tough guy role as well.
  3. Don't you know Dean invented hockey?
  4. Only chance is if they dress more than 12 forwards.

  8. I wouldn't be suprised if they kept Kozek and Duncan together from the end of last year. VV would be a great fit in the middle - he has improved every year and could be ready to be our #1 center. It also wouldn't shock me if Trupp, Gregoire and Toews ended up on a line together - alot of energy there.
  9. WHL, I bet. Western College Hockey has more. http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/2...nkorama_24.html
  10. ... or 1 year. I've heard that some in his family are thinking that way.
  11. How about Scott Sandelin? There's plenty of Gopher tradition on the Range - even when the 'Dogs were good in the '80s it was still a struggle for them to win recruiting battles with UMTC.
  12. I predict a Habs/Hawks final. The Canadiens will be tough to beat.
  13. "...UND and our fan base are not nearly as patient as BC has been..." Who is the last coach we have run off for not winning the big one? Rube? That was 30 years ago. We haven't had a BC/York "problem" since. (Gino moved on after some Woog-like losing seasons). I predict Hak won't be here 14 years - he will move on/up before then - on his terms and not due to the "impatient fan base."
  14. Is he better than Dylan Olsen?
  15. I wasn't in Denver 2 years ago for the regional, but I recall the UND/UMN final was not a sellout. Att: 11217 http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20070325&am...mn&gender=m The X would be jammed for a UND/UMN final. I bet it would be full for a UND vs. anyone final. I like the X as a regional site.
  16. Woog didn't get fired for his first 4 years, though.
  17. I think we Sioux fans need to grow up a little re: Xcel Energy Center = home ice for the Gophers 1. It's the largest hockey venue between Chicago and Denver - why wouldn't they hold a regional there. 2. Where do you see more Sioux fans when they play in the TC - Mariucci or the X? When the games are at the X, Sioux fans have a better opportunity to get tickets. 3. There are probably more Sioux fans in the TC than any other metro area in the nation. 4. It's an advantage for us to play on an NHL rink vs. an Olympic rink like Mariucci. We usually play well there. Face it - the WCHA/NCAA will continue hold events in the Twin Cities. If so, it's better for us they use the X vs. the John. Get used to it.
  18. Hak won't be a Woog untill he has a couple seasons like this: 1997-1998 17-22-0 .436 1998-1999 15-19-9 .453
  19. Yep - Eades is too soft, he was as a player too. Please think before you write.
  20. Here's Woog's record http://www.gopherhockeyhistory.com/coaches...s/woogStats.asp 2 losing seasons, recruiting philosophy, and cash in a hat finally got Woog fired. What will get Hakstol fired is an empty building - any predictions? Here's mine - Hakstol will leave for a better opportunity, not get fired.
  21. The 80's team rolls the 90's team 4-1 in a 7 game series (Karl makes 134 saves in 11 ot's in the only 90's victory - the winning goal is scored when Greg Johnson does a Neal Broten over a sprawling Bob Iwabuchi Ed Belfour).
  22. Panzer was robbed!!!!
  23. The last goalie coach I remember on staff was Jim Nelson, from the early 80's. Has there been anyone since?
  24. There is no mystery re: goaltending. Again - my point is that is hard to have more than one highly rated goalie on campus. No high end goalie (or their NHL draft/family advisor/parents) wants to sit - they want to play. UMN was in a unique situation - they had no confidence in the veteren stud (Frazee) and they brought in Kangas knowing he would have to play if Frazee continued to unimpress. Mike Lee wouldn't want to come here and sit for a year - he wants to play. No mystery.
  25. I was referencing this - QUOTE (Irish @ Aug 15 2008, 11:25 PM) I think we have paid a high price to have Walski as a senior with one game under his belt on our roster. We lost a good young goalie and haven't recruited a stud until Eidsness. We are one injury away from disaster. Does anyone think that Walski can carry the load in the WCHA? If so why didn't he play last year. Why we haven't gone after another top goalie is a mystery. I hope it doesn't come back to bite us. Our goalie recruitment philosophy is a mystery. What do they see in Walski that others don't see. He is a hard working practice goalie in my book
