Won't look like a cafeteria in MN in the near future. Gov. Walz to hold presser at 10 am. No doubt it's a domino effect because of neighboring WI and SD.

Yep...  2 weeks beginning this Wednesday or Thursday; unclear which day.  Next week was our spring break anyway, plus the Mrs. had our kid out a few extra days anyway.  Main concern appears to be distant learning, special ed, school meals, and day care.

The bolded part is what some of us are saying: No one knew or cared about this virus until a week ago and we were all OK going about our lives.

But, Because the media IMO is blowing this thing out of the water, look where we are now. It’s ridiculous in public because of a false panic/hysteria. Everyone is still out shopping, restaurants are busy, etc.

How big of a deal was the flu this season?Really big relative to this from what I can tell and I don’t really remember hearing anyone blow up the news about the number of people that died from the flu so far. How many people have gone to work with a cold/flu in the past 2-3 months? Lots. And no one missed a beat because it’s flu season.

    Wow

To be fair, the ability to properly administer tests is the foundation of a proper response.  Everything is built upon it.  So is proper communication.  Without both we’re navigating blind.....which is, frankly, our biggest problem now.  We've been forced to play catch-up because of this administration's incompetent initial response.  So, it that sense, criticism is certainly warranted.

Again, this isn't a political rant; Trump has done a very good job since the initial failure.

    Beautiful test kits...

So let's me throw this wrench into all of this......my buddy just texted me. He's youngest of large family. Parents late 80s. Living in assisted living. He can't go into facility to see them but he's picking them up for lunch as they can voluntarily leave the facility.

But my daughter enjoying a couple days with friends at a hotel and MOA is going to collapse the health system in the FM area.

Roll those dice...  and good luck.

The president of Michigan State University just announced suspension of in-person classes until April 20, at a minimum. Some of his credentials follow:

"Dr. Stanley has served as chair of the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity, which advises the U.S. government on issues related to the communication, dissemination and performance of sensitive biological research. He was a member of the National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council at the NIH and a member of the NIH director’s

Blue Ribbon Panel on the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories. He also served as an ambassador for the Paul G. Rogers Society for Global Health Research and has received an Honorary Doctorate in Science from Konkuk University in South Korea. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of American Universities and has served on the NCAA Board of Directors and NCAA Board of Governors."

    Total overblown hysteria...

Well, considering the R0 factor is between 2 and 3.5, perhaps twice as infectious as the Spanish Flu and 3 times that of 1N1, swine. Or, the current death rate is 5 fold that of the seasonal flu. Or, a person can have nominal symptoms yet be contagious for as long as 2 weeks to a month. These numbers most likely will lower, with additional evidence and testing results. Certainly no “hoax” as many have suggested, and maybe enough evidence to show some concern.  Unfortunately, sick employees don’t stay home... I sent two home today.  The elderly will be hard hit.  Heed the advice of medical experts.  Call your parents.

Read last week that St. Thomas: 1) made ACT  scores  for entrance optional, 2) dropped their MBA program and 18  faculty positins, 3)?got a 20 million dollar donation for scholarships...

    Smells like D I to me ..

FWIW, St Thomas is dropping its joint MBA/Accountancy full-time program. Enrollment dropped from 145 students in 2010 to just 28 students this academic year. Future accepted students to be offered similar in flex MBA, online MBA programs. Certainly a funding/common sense factor, but murky on how closely related to D-1 athletics.

  8. Looks like a hard shoulder to shoulder hit to me.. with the player’s head following the body direction.  Caulfield appears to have tried to avoid the hit... lifts right skate off the ice and tucks in elbow.  Not a direct hit.  Seems Clown player leans forward, to his left, head down.  Tough play at game speed.

Unless they show better evidence than what was screenshot by SiouxSoccer123, who said that was all the evidence they had, then yes, they misread an email and unfairly accused someone.  People jump to the wrong conclusion all the time.  Had they accused Jonny Tychonick or Josh Rieger or Jordan Kawaguchi, whose names actually start "jo," you would be saying/assuming the same thing.

Hmmm...  perhaps a former player, maybe even a female.  I just can't think of anyone with a name begging with "jo".

  10. The "evidence" attributing "UND Sports Talk" to JW is a selector ending in '71' (which can easily be acquired by google phone) and a gmail email account beginning with 'j' (also easily obtained).  The above screen shots do not suggest any effort to "fire and destroy" anything.  Not exactly a preponderance of evidence to accuse on social media.  All from an account created on siouxsports ~11 hours ago.  What's the motivation there?  Also trying to wrap my head around why a young man from Canada would debate First Amendment protections and the tax foundation of the University.
