I'm starting to wonder if Eidsness' stats in the AJHL is going to build up a hype that he may not be able to live up to (at least his freshman year).
Grieco came in highly lauded and he got nothing from the fans. He lost two bad games and was then written off. I wonder what it will be like after Eidsness loses a game while in a Sioux uniform...especially if it happens against a team that some posters feel are "patsies."
everybody should have realized that AG was 17 when he came in. eidsness will be almost 2 years older i think and he will be better to start anyway.

lammy played well all weekend. the goals that were let in were because of team errors. i have to say that i havent ever been comfortable with the defensemen leading the rush...it leads to way too many odd man rushes.

I would never question if he wanted to go last year, he did. They offered him a minor league contract and he declined. The concern for all of College Hockey is that a GM calls a kid in the middle of his season, not from the AHL squad, his school and offers the kid a better deal than he did 4 months ago. If it was Oshie we were talking about, I think many of you would be less smug about him not enjoying UND. I think all of us would agree it's easier to play hockey professionally than it is to take a full course load and play in college. My point is only that this is just the tip, if a kid comes back, I think he should have to play the whole year before he has contact with the team that has his rights.
first off, i agree that this sucks for the gophers, and for college hockey. secondly, im pretty sure that oshie was offered a rookie max deal, not some minor league crap. and lastly, i would disagree that nhl is easier than college. college is not hard...especially the classes that most hockey players take. the nhl is a grind. there is way more pressure to perform in the nhl. you mess up and you get moved down.

i dont like kaip on the first line either. i think it would be great to have him strengthen the 3rd line. i really think that kozek should wing the top line.

a number of recruits at the game tonight. im going to with hold names for now but if you saw the 2 kids in the bench before the game that was them. the other was somewhere under the rink.

Dang, that was a fun night of hockey!
definitely the best hockey game i have ever seen.
on a side note, i think that und will fair well this weekend. im not just saying that because im a sioux fan, but i have a feeling that und will hit their stride earlier this season. i would say that und will get 2 points out for sure...but i wouldnt be surprised to see a sweep. i say a split is likely because the gophers are still potentially lethal. they are going to be pumped for this series.

Granted it is high school competition, but Gleason looks awesome. Best skater on the ice hands down and has created the last 3 goals. Budish is NOT offensively polished, but has great size and strength.
agreed 100%. Gleason is the best out there. budish is big and powerful, but his shot sucks. he might want to work more on hockey and less on football...

does anyone know if this is a 3 week deal and we get another goalie for the 2nd semester out of a junior league or if hes on the team for the whole season? just curious. thanks
schlossman said that hak already said they wont be bringing anybody in at semester time. he may be a 1 year goalie, but maybe he will be a 4 yr. hopefully he adds a lot of character to the team.

your right. i wasnt even going to look in this thread because i hate this crap. EVERY year under hak the sioux fans bitch about how disappointing the team is and how we should be undefeated. look at teams in the last few years. umtc, notre dame, scsu, maine, among others....they start hot and die off. granted und and bc didnt get as far as fans hoped, but they have reached f4 over and over and nearly missed the playoffs.
be patient and stop whinning.

if i remember right he was also traded last season so this is the 2nd time i think. must have not been a great fit but on the other hand i wouldnt have traded blood as he seems to be doing very well.
on a side note - it must be a little strange to get traded at that age, kind of gives you a nhl feel with getting traded to another city

I think Gregoire is going to be a heckuva player. That was a great steal from Denver. He is off to a great start this year. Sounds like he is one of the best all around players in the league.
i think most would agree he could have been a first rounder if not for his injury.

i think that Oshie, Chorney, and Finley are gone for sure. Duncan is probable, but who knows. I think feinhage OR gleason will be in with blood, and then (heres my guess) davidson will be moved to the 7th spot on D. i think that VV will be here another year, but i could see kozek signing at the rate hes been going now. Forney will be in the lineup for sure if he can stay healthy...i think he will stay healthy.

the new uscho wcha reporter SUCKS so far. she gave a biased review of what happened between und and uw. drewiske was whinning about what happened between whistles, when he was cheap shoting oshie between whistles the night before. i wrote her an email
. im not saying und didnt instigate it, but uw certainly had done their share to help things. what does everybody think?

lapoint and lee are different in that lapoint puts in more effort and he is not no. 9 overall. i think lee started great here and his effort waned with the pressure. that is why lee is doing so much better now. lapoint is very impressive.
