  1. Im not particularly fond of South but if you dont think South played rather poorly in the first two periods then you either havent seen South play this year or dont dont know much about the game of hockey. I have to give it to Red River for playing a great physical game but South didnt show up till about half way through the third period and when that finally happened, they dominated. This should be a very exciting weekend of hockey.

  2. Danny Wurden isn't a starting defenseman Galt and Spriggs are. Erick Galt commited to Lincoln today to play in the USHL as soon as the season is over.

Wurden may not start but he is deffinetly the second defensemen and i would assume he doesn't start so they can even things up between the first and second units.

  3. you must have quite a chip on your shoulder to blame Dean Wilson for any stat website which he has nothing to do with. I also appreciate all the work Bob does and accept whenever it can be updated.

How can you blame Wilson for that. All of Souths stats are updated and all of their game sheets are turned in. If you're going to blame someone, why not blame the coaches who are responsible for the missing game sheets that are posted on Bob's site.

  4. I believe it has to do with goal differential against Grafton. South beat them 2-1, and 6-2, for a differential of 5. Red River beat them 4-1, and plays them later this month. Red River needs to win (obviously) and do so by 3 goals to get the #1 seed. If they win by 2 goals, I have absolutely no idea what they'd do next....

If Red River wins by two it goes to a coinflip. If they only win by one then South gets the top seed.

  5. Thanks for the good post. I was getting a bit annoyed by the number of players that some people think will be playin D-I college hockey. Then when they said 80% of high schoolers intend on playing after high school, well that just made me laugh.

I didn't say 80 percent of the kids would play college or juniors. Maybe i didnt state it right but what i meant is that a majority of the high school hockey players would like to play juniors or college.

  6. I've heard that Simonson, Galbreath, and LaDouceur from the GF area are thinking about trying to go to a Junior A team in the coming years, can anyone tell me if this is true or not ?

80 percent of the kids playing high school hockey are probably trying to make a juniors team and play hockey after high school.

  7. 1. He plays his first and second lines throughout the game even when the score is a blow-out

    2. He uses his players to make a name for himself

    3. He talks down to every program that doesn't have the prestige that his program has. (thinks that all these other teams should be Jr. Gold AT BEST)

In a 8-0 game or whatever in the 3rd period...why not get some depth on your team and give the 3rd and 4th lines experience. Playing your top 2 lines for an entire game is not what will win you state championships. You think Weisgarber, Campbell, Larson, Powers, Galt ...any of those guys can learn anything from goin out continually after the score is already a blow-out? I don't think so...why not put the younger players in for some game experience.

    It's just my opinion...

I've been to three South games when they played in GF and Grafton and from what i remember they rolled three lines for the entire game with the exception of power plays and penalty kills.

  8. I believe South would have to scrore 3 goals and of course win to give them the advantage.

Red River plays Grafton one more time so they could regain that advantage .

The goals RR would need to score depends on Souths goals on Thursday.

If South would score 3 and win, that would give them the advantage buy a 1 goal.

RR would have to score 2 in their next meeting to win the tie breaker.

It doesn't go by how many goals are scored, it goes by goal differential. South will need to win by 3 if RR only beats grafton by 1 to tie in that category as well.

  9. Klein worked as a team player last year, that is why he had so many points. This year, the entire team with the exception of a few, are playing with no heart and only care about stats. North was better last year because of this reason. The team has a point total around 70. A few players can reach this number in a season. North has four great players, when they learn to pass, they will be a great team.

Great players should be able to find a way to get the job done no matter what the circumstances are, and people need to quit making excuses for them because they're on a bad team. Two players from Wahpeton have more points than Klenow and six players have more points than Klein.

  10. To get off the subject of Fargo vs. GF hockey, I want to know who the best players are in the state of ND. I want predictions on Mr. Hockey and All tournament teams, try to include some of the western players also.

If western players deserve it they'll be included. As of now i would say Weisgarber is the favorite for Mr. Hockey. Even though the Campbell's are racking up the points, in their two biggest games so far this season against Red River and South they've been shutdown when their team needed them to step up. Does anyone know if that freshman is still playing with them because if he is, he has to be slowing them down. The Campbells each have around 30 points while he has one...

  11. Fargo hockey hasn't proved anything as shown by state titles which is the only thing that matters. If you watched the RR/FS game it could have gone either way. I have also heard that Fargo is creating a new high school which would decline the numbers of FS. Another thing to think about is I hope FS is getting better now since there school district has almost the same population as GF. Another thing to look at is the other previous post on how FS has a student population about equal to GFC and RR combined.

The statistic to look at would be the number of males trying out for the schools hockey team not the number of males in the school. I am almost positive that both Red River and Central have way more kids going out for hockey than North or South. Anyone have the actual numbers?

  12. Ok specifics, im just wondering what it is that you make you opinons on, i mean what has Klein done to make you believe any of that? If my sources are correct Klein finished about fifth or sixth on the Elite 2 team points wise. And i believe that team took second in the final tournament, so there he was playing with good players and still finished behind four other kids who mostly play on the second lines for their teams. If Klein played for a Grafton or a South, ya he would probably produce a little and get maybe twenty to thirty points but beat out the Campbells or Weisgarber? come on

I haven't seen any stats for that team. Who all finished ahead of Klein?
