there garbage
Nice grammar. Who are you saying is garbage? If you're saying Hillman and Diechert are then you should lose all privledges to post on this site.

I'm sorry if i've offended you because you play for Red River or probably their JV team. Have you even seen South play yet? Red River has absolutely zero creditability this year. They've played terrible competition and have even struggled against that competition. Sorry if i've hurt your feelings but at this point in the season, South is the best team in the state.
-
How can you even say that south is a better team?......until the 2 teams play i dont think there should be any talking on here about who the "Better team" is.
So should we wait till South plays west fargo before we say who's better between those two? I can say South is the best team because i've seen both teams play. South is bigger, stronger, faster, deeper than Red River. Also when Red River struggles with a brutal West Fargo team it raises a red flag. South is the defending champ and will be number one until someone can knock them off. Period.

hey RR is still #1 or #2 with fargo south
DL far 3rd then after up for grabs prolly id say either GPR or FN

What time is that game at? And is it going to be at the Coliseum?
7:30 at the Coliseum. I'd suggest getting there early, maybe even before the JV game because the Coliseum is going to be packed to the brim. #1 team in minnesota vs. the #1 team in north dakota in a huge rivalry game. Cant get much better than that.

I believe that the line consisting of Eric Meland, Russel Crary, and Andrew Vigen is the best line in the state. With that line along with Ryan Ladueceur and Jarret Galbreath i think RR stands a very good chance at beating Fargo South. Fargo is a very good team with just as much if not more depth than RR. Still i think that with Eric Melands clutch performances and Crary's ability to get open and somehow find the net, they can beat South.
Yeah its amazing how crary and vigen have put up such good numbers so far this year considering how tough Red Rivers schedule has been so far...

That is someting new. WF being a good team? I thought Grafton just beat them 7-3 and WF was on the road the team has a 1-4 record right now.
I think you're missing his sarcasm.

Yes, you are correct in saying that Minot should have won one State Championship. They did that in 1992. That is the only one that they should of won. There was no way in the past couple of years that they would make it out of the semifinal round, let alone the quaterfinals.
I disagree. I think they could have deffinatley won state two years ago when they came in undefeated two years ago but they just choked. They were the most talented team in the state that year.
-
Your seeing two brutal teams play.
I agree. That game was hard to watch. I dont know if Grafton is just out of shape or what. They looked sluggish and were playing like they didnt even care. Even with the way they were playing they should have won. I think they scored on themselves twice(once for sure) and another North goal was scored blatantly after the whistle. Does anyone know the last time Grafton started 0-2? Or how about the last time North started 3-0? Brutal.

Any body go to the GPR - North game that can give a recap?
They don't play till Thursday.

This post doesn't even make sense.
No it really doesnt. Severe lack of grammar and relevance.

North 5
Bismarck Century 4
Couple of weak teams. Lack of depth, weak slow defensemen, and very shaky goaltending for both teams.
-
You're right don't give Grand Forks Central any credit. They don't deserve it. Just look at how many titles they've won. Great point buddy.
They dont deserve credit until they prove they can hang with the top three. You can talk about all the titles they've won as much as you would like but thats not going to help them win one this year. The number of titles a team has won in the past has nothing to do with how good they are in the present.

First off Jamestown is gonna be in the state tournament which voids out any attempt you had at a point there. Welding will have a monster season in the west, he has gimme 5 pt. games with Mandan, Dickinson, Hazen, and Bottineau. For all the Devils Lake love that seems to be going around on these sites you'd think a 5 point performance against them would have us giving him credit. I think of Welding keeps his point totals up he would be a very formidable Mr. Hockey candidate.
Secondly, I just got home from the Shanley game tonight and ouch! It will be a year filled with rebuilding. The game ended 4-0, penalites filled the game, you can tell the effects it will have on the play this year. Central looked shaky early but seemed to pick it up as the game went on.
Sorry i was thinking that Jamestown was still in the East. Still getting used to that.
-
Just found out that Welding had 5 points last night in the lost (4g, 1a)...possible mr. hockey candidate this year...he has good credentials with elite league hockey and select teams over the years...he also had like 27 points his soph year..although last year was kinda a down year for him....it is a pretty good start to a year tho.
I dont think there should be a mr. hockey coming from a team that doesnt even come close to making it to state though.

D.L over J-Town 6-5
Just barley squeeking by J town at home. After seeing that i really doubt they will be able to contend with the top half of the EDC.
-
Anybody know of actual line combos that teams have so far?
-
Have all the teams in the state started tryouts or practices yet?
-
Did the South team from last year win state as Bantam A's or was that this years class?
-
I know Wurden is pretty solid and Metz is a big kid, but I'm not sure of the other 3 you mentioned. Personally, I think Grafton will be in close contention for the best team in EDC with some really powerful offensive punch. However, I believe I remember hearing something about Grafton's coach resigning last year, is that true? As for depth, I think South's top lines may have trouble together, and this isn't the West, so McBain could prove to be a null factor. For the top three I think Grafton may have it if they manage to get some strong goaltending. Grafton's top 3 are too much for any D in the state, South will have to rely heavily on their defense, and Red River will have to depend upon Meland and their two D sensations. It should prove to be very close in the end, and seems like it's going to be quite the competition for state this year.
Why do you think South top lines will have trouble together?
-
Anyone have predictions on who will be the best line in the state this year?
-
Didn't this guy also coach Fargo North last year? Or am I thinking of a different guy?
Jay Erickson coaches for North.

Penalties arent going to be called tight like that in high school hockey. The reason they are calling it like that in the elite leagues is because they use the USA Hockey rulebook and rules which high school does not use. Another difference between the two is in USA Hockey they dont have tag up offsides like they do in high school.
-
But they still count as games right? Last season Red River played in four scrimmages in Warroad. Should those be counted on their overall record for last season?
No, thats why they're called scrimmages and not games.

Not anywhere close to the top team in the state? So you're saying they're fourth or fifth in the state? South was missing 3 of their top 9 forwards, one from each line. You could tell the chemistry wasn't there all night.
