I just think that Chorney has forced shots on the pp this year. I can think of a couple that have been blocked and almost returned for breakaways. In each instance he has toe dragged the shot from the middle with no one backing him up. To me he is forcing it a little, and needs to be more patient (pass it on and set up a better shot). I would agree that Chorney has done a lot of things right to get to this point (draft, UND) but this is something that I haven't seen him do in the past on the pp.

Chorney has got to stop toe dragging the puck everytime. A shot wide can be tipped, a shot blocked... You don't need to hit the net every shot. Possession is 9/10th of the power play. But ya, we should have two good sets of pp D. No problems with that. If the pairs now are not working, we always got big joe. Hell, put Kaip back there. That shouldn't matter to much.

The main thing is that he shoots with his head up. I was also shocked to see his stick. It's an Easton 110 flex and is really short (obviously). The shorter the stick the stiffer it gets. That is the flex on many power forwards in the pros stick of twice the length. But somehow Ryan still manages to get some great whip on that thing.

I was going to say that the PK time doesn't bother me nearly as much as the camera positioning. Trying to stay positive haha This is not unusual, hum. Name some other coverage that isn't pointing at the players benches.

Anyone have a problem with the view from which the games are covered. The PP time doesn't bother me half as much as the fact that the side view camera view is pointing at the penalty box. Every other TV coverage in the world has the benches in the background. This shows the players, coaches and (most importantly) the on-the-fly changes and scrums that go with it. This can have as much to do with the tone of the game as the play/shots etc. Thoughts? Sad to say, the only reason that this hasn't been, fixed I feel, is due to the architecture of the rink. The camera and media section is on the wrong side. The scouts and agents that I have talked to sit on the side opposing the players boxes if at all possible. That says something.

Font page news about the WC gold and Toews signing on both NHL.com and USCHO.com (and many more I'm sure). On the mighty WCHA site, he got nothing. The latest news on that site is tech's schedule and Denver captians announced. Nice to see a new picture and article up on USCHO I might add (msu picture made me not want to go there anymore)

First thing on coaches corner tonight was from Ron MacLean who said, "I can't believe Drew Stafford was scratched again tonight." Cherry agreed. Not sure what Maxi adds 5 on 5 in the playoffs (at least on this line). He keeps doing the same thing with the puck when rushing it, then can't be physical enough to do anything when he is stopped behind the net. Neither Maxi nor Vanek are particularly great passers. Vanek disappears. Vanek's line has also seen less pp time without Drew. Wonder if Drew could have helped get that pp going.

Anyone for sure on this. The package has only showed US games and no others up to this point.
