I was watching Fox sports (Channel 10) last night and the reporter stated that Lennon never applied for the job initially. There were initially 70 applicants for the position. The reporter stated that Lennon was contacted by the MSU search committee. Has anyone else heard or able to confirm this?
That is correct. He did not apply. A committee identified him, and the school contacted him.

The Herald on-line blames the court for its errors:
"Correction: An earlier version of this story, based on court documents, reported that Jonathan Toews would spend 10 days in jail. After subsequent interviews with prosecutors, the Herald learned Toews' sentence was suspended, so he will not serve the jail time."
The Forum's on-line version still has not been corrected.
The Herald is lying. Susanne Nadeau doesn't know how to read a court document. She made the mistake. They are in full spin-control right now as they try to cover their ass regarding a slam-dunk libel case.

What are Toews' prior offenses that would warrant him being sentenced to 10 days in prison?
This is not accurate information. The 10 days were SUSPENDED. Note the writer of the article and also note how quickly it will be changed. She is wrong. And saying that someone is going to serve 10 days in jail when they really aren't is going to get her and the Herald in a lot of trouble.

I really don't think we should brag about beating Mayville State. The financial disparity between the two schools is obscene. UND should beat Mayville State by 30 points. I hope Jones turns it around here, but I'm firmly on record as having said that Craig Smith should be the coach at UND. Fast forward two years, when Tim Miles leaves NDSU and they hire Craig Smith. The Bison won't skip a beat and everyone at UND will say "Wow, he's a great coach! We should have him here at UND!". We won't get a second chance.

Sounds like the fans down in Fargo have their act together. How about in GF? Overtime, TBFKA Dagwoods, is usually pretty good. Rumors? Whitey's? Judy's?

Paul Colontino is the perfect new coach for this team. He's an assistant at Mercyhurst, and they've been ranked #1 almost the entire year. And I understand that he is willing to listen. And he can recruit.

So that takes them out of the equation. No way would NDSU schedule someone that has officially run afoul of the ncaa. So that leaves 5 possible teams, one of which that can sell out the fargodome, UND, and four that would get about 16,000.

Don't know if this has been posted, but the two AD's are going to be on Ed Schultz radio show tomorrow. He said today that he's going to sit these two guys down and figure out what it takes to schedule a football game between the schools. Should be interesting.

That might have been the worst officiated period of hockey in the history of the sport. The call on Kaip for cross checking was...was...well, I don't think I have a word for it.

Is it possible that the NCAA might actually come to UND to accept its "award", and in doing so, see nothing hostile or abusive? Just a thought. Maybe they'll ask to have the award mailed to Indian-apolis, to avoid all the racism in GF.

The students cannot stand Dom, he claims he's being paid to be there and he hits the drums as hard as he can just to get under the student's skin. I know a few people who have complained to the administration at the Ralph, and others who have prepared a letter for the Music Director with pretty good sources that he has broken the code of student life while at the Ralph. I'm just sitting back and watching but I know more than a dozen students ready to have him removed, including some in the band.

It boils down to what people want to watch. If WDAZ had the advertisers lined up they'd put all the sioux games on TV statewide. It's a money thing. Fact is the interest isn't there. The low turnout for the sioux fb playoff games indicates that your last statement isn't necessarily true. It's not whether it's the playoffs but who are you playing.

Your ignorance is showing. WDAZ routinely turns down advertisers on televised events. They simply don't have enough time to sell to everyone. The games are completely full. It has absolutely, positively nothing to do with advertising. It has everything to do with production costs, travel expenses, man-power, etc. You might want to stick to the facts in the future.
