I believe there was interest in him from Minnesota, UND, Duluth, and many other teams but one of the things that I think allowed Omaha to land him is allowing him to come straight from Grand Rapids. Omaha allowed him to come straight from high school just playing before/after the high school season in the USHL while others wanted him to play a full year of juniors before coming in. I know there was also a little bit of a question about whether he was a good enough skater to be a good college hockey player but I think he has answered that question pretty well in his first year at UNO.
just like Oshie....questions were answered in the first half of HS to college transition. Dudes can play.

so Tallon trades Shore to give him a chance elsewhere because they are so deep up front? Doesn't bode well for Corban if that's the truth.
edit: although, being a Hawks fan, I know that Bolland will be injured 75% of the time so there may be an opportunity.

Just wondering....why? As a UND fan I would say sure, we definitely could have used him that next year. As a hockey fan I don't think his decision was that bad. I don't think an extra year of college would have catapulted him to NHL stardom. Either way his skating ability was his downfall and he would have probably ended up going through the same minor league route. At least he figured it out a year earlier I guess.
exactly the reason i think he should've stayed. what's the hurry to get to the minors when could've played one more year and been a key player on his college team?

Kind of seemed like a lackluster performance, sort of like they knew they would win, just had to put in the time. Can't afford to do that against the canuckians. Sad to see some of the players (cough, gopher, cough) talking during anthem.
i think playing last night and having the day game today had a lot to do with it.

That's another example why all majors need to be reviewed on video. The idiot refs take a long time talking about it anyway, why not just review it on video? It would change a lot of 5's to 2's.

Series sweep is what I am predicting. Anything less is unacceptable.
UND seems to play to the level of their competition whether it's a bad Wisconsin team for a high flying Miami team. Have to break that cycle and put these games away in the first 2 periods each night. Nothing to gain in the pairwise but tragic if they lose one and the players know this. no excuses. UND 5-2, 4-2. Hammer will be calling for the Traditional Circle of Sticks on Saturday night.

As much as I have confidence in UND making the NCAA tournament, they are in no way a lock at this point. All it would take is a loss against LSSU along with a mediocre performance the rest of the way to make them a bubble team. That Bemidji loss really hurt. I'd be curious to know where we'd be in the PWR if we'd have won that game.
Bemidji loss won't hurt as much if the Beavers can pick off a win against a strong PWR team once in a while. they still play Mankato x 3 possibly, Duluth, Tech x2, and possible Minnesota.

The big one was Radke coming out of the locker room and pummeling Vossberg's head into the ice. What's Radke up to these days? The Ralph should've honored that moment and let him do the ceremonial puck drop before the game.
