  1. The U should should just change their name to the Fighting Dakotans and say that they are using it because it is the state's name. They won't be forced to change it because even though it's a group's name, it is also the state name.

I'd like to see the NCAA's off-the-wall and illogical response to denying that name also.

They would say its ok because it comes from the state name, like they did for the Illini.

    :)

  2. I would think that we at least should hear an explanation of why it happened.

Let's remember it wasn't until Sunday night that the teams were finalized.

Doesn't matter when the teams were finalized. How many times has the University of North Dakota team been in the Final Five?? NDSU isn't in the WCHA. UND and NDSU should not have been mixed up in this instance. No excuses at all. If it were my marketing guy, I would have fired him.

Its pretty bad when the national media gets UND and NDSU mixed up. Its worse when it is a LOCAL (as in MSP/St Paul) organization that screws up. Shame on them.

  3. Yeah Sioux!! Great game, great tourney!! Wow, its great to be a Sioux fan!!!!

    Stand up and cheer

Stand up and cheer for North Dakota

    Pledge your loyalty

For she's your Alma Mater true.

    Our team is fighting

And we will help them see it thru

    We've got the team

    We've got the steam

So North Dakota here's to you

    :lol::lol::lol:

  4. Could you imagine what Smaby or Prpich would be like if either of them were more in touch with their feminine side?

I think that's as good a reason as any to not have pink on the men's jerseys.

I know you are teasing me. :)

And let's cut the crap here. Prairie Rose IS pink. The attempt by the University to hide that fact is just disgusting.

Prp is CanadiEn. The CanadiEn men I know dont have much for their feminine side. ;) My own CanadiEn would look at me really weird if I suggested he put a pink stripe on his sweater. He also asked why Pink was a school color but he didn't ask why they don't use it on uni's.

  5. Not when Prairie Rose (aka Pink) is an official school color.

I know what the school colors are. But why just the women relegated to wearing pink?? How come the men don't have a pink stripe on their sweater? ;)

I'm teasing you by the way.

I vote no for any pink for anybody. Pink is evil.

  6. Whew! What a great weekend! I was home from Chicago to see the Sioux play Friday and Saturday. They were a great pair of games to see. Only wish I could have been to the Sunday game too.

Great job UMD and SCSU! What a great Final Five this year! Wooo, I'm so excited!!

    Go Sioux!!!!

  7. Woo...now that Bochenski is there, it might be more motivation to get to a game (though 8 dollar tickets is a pretty good motivator). Too bad its the Hawks but he probably wont be there long.

  8. Also wanted to add that the Amtrak gives students 15% off tickets for a year for a small fee of 30 bucks for the membership. Not a bad deal. Any Sioux fans that are students in Minnesota or Wisco, its a good way to get home. Long a$$ ride from Chicago (14 hours..ugh) but way cheaper than flying. My roundtrip tickets this weekend for spring break week will be 130 bucks.

  9. OK, ok.

Male, Swedish, hocky players on the ice practicing their moves wearing nothing but 'bikini' underwear, skates, their torsos gleaming with sweat, muscles rippling with every move.......(heavy sigh)

Come now..Swedish men?? Lets be more picky eh??

  10. You have your choice of two Paukovich hits from behind. The one on Oshie Friday and the one on Finley Saturday. Both of them were full-on drills in the back square in the numbers against Sioux players facing the boards. Neither of them involved players turning toward the boards at the last second, which was certainly the case on Fabian's penalty.

A CFB is a CFB regardless if one is 'worse' than the other. If the ref is following the rule, it shouldnt matter about the force of the hit or if one is worse than another. The NCAA rules state in a "note" that it "should be penalized without exception and regardless of the severity of the hit."

How many legit CFB penalties have occured this year without a player turning his back??
