  1. Technically the Geometric Sioux on the new tee shirt is pointing the incorrect way. The logo is suppose to face to the left as you are looking at it. The preferred method of use, per trademark, was to face left, as it was used on the hockey jerseys and the Championship banners. I know that UND did not enforce this or did not really seem to care and had it facing both ways on a variety of products. UND started caring when the new Ben Brien Siouxhead was adopted, then the proper use was to face to the left.
  2. Growing up in GF I loved the Old Ralph. Gopher Steve Debus 3 goal sieve out in third period, the arena was electric. What happened to the original championship banners from the OLD RALPH, I have a feeling they are in someone's basement. They should of came over to the New REA as a display and incorporated into the building.
  3. I am not done ranting. Wally Shaver's true colors and thoughts come out during the Minnesota series Jan14. He talks down the whole Fighting Sioux Hockey Program, and insults the University of North Dakota. This is the same guy that the Fighting Sioux radio broadcast team gave on-air time to at April 2011's Frozen Four. WOW. (see my first post on this thread) Scott Grand Forks
  4. I.M.O. I don't like the new green football jerseys, the green looks so light. It is like it was washed to many times and the color faded. If it is the correct color then I think it needs to be tweaked. I remember that the Gemini Football jerseys that were in use before the new ones were a sharper looking Kelly Green (i know Gemini used the wrong official pantone color, but I do not care, it looked better on the field and on TV). We should adjust the green shade on the next football jerseys.
  5. Mark Chipman was interviewed on CBC's Hockey Night In Canada during the first intermission of game one Stanley Cup Final. Don Cherry and Ron McClean interviewed him about Winnipeg's return to the NHL. Winnipegs return is great but the thing that got my attention was the interview looked like it was in Mark's office or home, and in the background behind him it appears that he has a small green UND Football Helmet on display on the shelf. I know he is a UND alum and its nice to see he retains his proud ties to UND. Just something I noticed. update: The interview is on YouTube as HNIC Coaches Corner June 1st. At around 4:00 min, Mark is interviewed
  6. I think that it would be great to have the JETS name return to Winnipeg and the region. During the 2005 World Juniors at The Ralph, the Canadian Fans went crazy and started chanting "JETS" when the arena camera showed the Winnipeg Jets Banner (the one that use to hang on the North Wall inside The Ralph). The name "JETS" is still in the collective memory of Winnipeg Fans. Based on that I think It would be a tougher sell at first without using "JETS" name for the team. And I personally prefer it.
  7. I share your same thoughts. Tim Hennessy is a great broadcaster. But doesn't the thought of interviewing a Gopher and talking about the Gophers on a Fighting Sioux broadcast bother anyone. Was Tony Hrkac or Ed Belfour available (i don't know if either were at the Frozen Four), or John Noah, Reg Morelli, Brad Bombadier, Nick the Sioux Fan fighting cancer,................ I am done ranting.
  8. I am a Sioux fan and a fan of Fighting Sioux radio broadcaster Tim H. I understand he has health issues, so get well Tim we missed you. But I have one comment that "GRINDS MY GEARS". During Thursday's radio broadcast at the Frozen Four on the Fighting Sioux Radio Network in which Fans, Alumni, and Friends of Fighting Sioux Hockey are listening from across the United States, and the replacement broadcast guys during the second intermission interview a couple of people not associated with UND and affiliated with the rodents. Where was Tim O'Keefe when you need him. At least Mr O'Keefe would interview a former Sioux player, a Sioux fan, a parent of a Sioux player or someone that is associated with UND in some way. Is that all you could come up with, Paul R and Chris H, what were you thinking lining this up? I am done ranting. SM, GF
