Did I once say fire berry?

You imply it after each non-natty season when you dedicate yet another thread to your lover, Sandy, and asking what it would take to get him here. By the way, SiouxSports keep a history of user posts/topics. You’ve made quite a few threads about Sandelin. He might want to consider a restraining order.

Berry was home tonight watching the guy that eliminated him two weeks ago so a little hard to argue he still had the better season....... none of the Frozen Four teams were flukes this year so someone has to lose.

I don’t think UMD hangs participation banners. Better season? They won nothing. Overall, UND had the much better season. That isn’t even a debate. Winning the regular season, conference tournament, or national championship isn’t easy. UND won 2 out of 3 and while I certainly wish a national title was part of that number instead of either the penrose or conference championship, it was still a better season than UMD.

Its nice to watch the national championship and not care...

    2016....Go Sioux...

    2017....please not Duluth

    2018....Go Irish

    2019.....its gonna be Duluth.....

    2020....thanks Covid

    2021.....Not Duluth!

My only change is 2017. It was please not Denver for me. Didn’t want them tying UND with 8 immediately after UND won in 2016.

  4. UMass will be without their starting goaltender and three other players vs UMD. It’s ridiculous the amount of breaks and advantages that has been going Duluth’s way. Pretty comical at this point. I’m sure just a matter of time before they get a bye to championship game. Cause why not.

  5. I’m kind of surprised Mismash hasn’t signed yet though I wonder if injury is part of the cause. I would be ecstatic if he decided to come back to UND for a 5th year. Same for Adams. Can’t help but be concerned about the offense struggling next season. Getting Cruikshank would be a nice jolt to the arm.

I hope Berry gets a goalie from the portal. Totally cool if Thome stays but be nice to get another proven goalie even if for backup purposes.

  6. I was silently hoping Pinto would stay but knew out of all the players on the team, he was the most ready to take the next step in his development. Sucks to see him go but I wish him well and look forward to following his career.

We have to remember that Berry DID take us to the NCAA title in 2016. So he has proven it can happen under his watch. And I think we'll get back there sooner rather than later.

BuT hE hAd HaKsToL's ReCrUiTs To WiN iT! Cause you know, gotta minimize what Berry did and amplify how awesome Sandelin is. :silly:

  8. I must say it’s been a little therapeutic reading posts in this thread after spending most of the day trying not to think about the outcome of last night/this morning or college hockey in general. Just want to say thank you to the many members of SiouxSports that share your thoughts here. Quite a few of them has helped lessen the pain a little. Still gonna be a bit before I get over this one though.

When’s last time we had a coach whose won 3 nattys

Has Berry been at UND for 21 years? How about 10? Simple question.

UND played not to lose a good portion of the game minus Sanderson eventually saying the h*ll with it and trying to create on his own the last couple of OTs.  Very good coach, very nice guy, record in big games is on the verge of becoming very concerning.

5-2 in NCAA tournament games? Small sample size but I don’t know how much tolerance there will be if there’s any more down seasons like 17-18 and 18-19. Hakstol never won the big one but he brought sustained success for the program. Fans got use to making the tournament every year. Berry isn’t at Hakstol level of choking yet but man it’d sure be nice to have same level of NCAA tournament success that Duluth has under Sandelin.

I’m not really sure where this Sanderson chatter is coming from since it’s already been announced he’d be back for his sophomore year.

Unless he changes his mind but that’s be a quick flip.

Until Sanderson himself confirms he’s returning, have to leave possibility open.
