  1. How about a single released by the cast of Godspell - Day by Day.
  2. As The Sicatoka said, it looks like all of the schools in the new conference are making the announcement at the same time. They are probably trying to show that they are working together and none of the schools are better or worse than the others in the conference. So none of the schools can make the announcement without the others. I am sure that it would be difficult to avoid having some kind of conflict at every school involved. It just happens that it comes up against a fundraiser for UND. But I don't think it is a big problem since everyone knows about the new conference already. This is just one of those public PR things that needs to be done.
  3. I don't know if this is complete but it should be close. The list below have all been duplicated, some of them used 3 or 4 times. Blood, Sweat and Tears; Deep Purple; Electric Light Orchestra; Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds; Lynyrd Skynyrd; Norman Greenbaum; Charlie Daniels Band; Ted Nugent; Quincy Jones; Queen; Uriah Heep; Van Halen; Frank Zappa; ZZ Top; Yes; Neil Young; T-Rex; War
  4. I submit for your listening pleasure another one hit wonder, Wadsworth Mansion singing Sweet Mary from 1970.
  5. Blood, Sweat & Tears - And When I Die
  6. And now for something that covers most of popular entertainment through the early 1970's, Reunion performing Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me) from 1974.
  7. Ocean - Put Your Hand in the Hand - 1971
  8. How about a Spanish group and song that made the US charts in 1974, Mocedades singing Eres Tu (Touch the Wind).
  9. Jean Knight - Mr. Big Stuff
  10. It looks like the Wild have had 6 or 7 preseason games each year. They play them between September 15th and 30th. Three to 5 of them have been home games plus the occasional game at a neutral site like the Ralph. I would think that they would try to play 1 or 2 at home this year at the end of the month and maybe play 1 or 2 at places like Grand Forks, Duluth or Mankato. It would cover the time needed to reconstruct the X and be good PR in the outstate area. That would be besides the week or so that they will probably need to practice at the Ralph before the games get started. But that is just my guess.
  11. The Jaggerz - The Rapper
  12. I think he's talking about the University of Miami, and not the one in Ohio. I heard a rumor that they were going to start playing hockey right on South Beach.
  13. Maybe you remember this little tune, "Dueling Banjos" by Eric Weissberg and Steve Mandel.
  14. Another one hit wonder from 1970, "Montego Bay" by Bobby Bloom.
  15. The last time I heard Chris Semrau on KNOX radio he said that the Ralph was busy working on a bid for the same tournament.
  16. And for the letter U I will submit Arlo Guthrie singing "The City of New Orleans".
  17. And I'll make up for repeating a Quincy Jones tune by submitting another selection from his work, "The Theme from They Call Me Mr. Tibbs".
  18. Tom Clay hit #8 with this version of "What the World Needs Now".
  19. And since we are about out of Q artists, how about the Sanford and Son Theme Song by Quincy Jones.
  20. How about a few more summer songs. Like Summer in the City, or All Summer Long, or Summer of 69 or an early version of a song that almost everyone covered, Summertime Blues.
  21. Live (on tape and then Youtube) from Hawaii, the King, Mr. Elvis Presley singing his last big hit "Burning Love".
  22. There was a lot of bad music in the 70's, much of it was known as disco. And then there was specialty stuff like "Short People" by Randy Newman. Good call on M & M. I hadn't heard that song in a long time.
  23. With the L selection in this round, I choose Edison Lighthouse and "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes" from 1970.
  24. Another one hit wonder, Ian Thomas singing "Painted Ladies".
  25. I want to go to the place that's the best, "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum.
