forecheck - I am in. I live here in the cities, so shouldn't have nay problems. I normally play any forward position, but I can play D if needed. I am not sure if we are opening this game up to ex-WCHA players (either gopher or sioux) or if this should just be people who post on these hockey forums (POI or siouxsports), I do know a couple ex-sioux players who might like to play. I did get the impression that this was going to be a game for people who are better at posting threads then threading passes, but I am for a game no matter what, just what to know who to invite. What does everybody think about eligibility for players??? Do we allow D1 players or not?

I would vote that we try and get the ice time during the Final Five. I would just add to the fun of the weekend. If need be I am willing to start rosters for both teams to insure we have enough players for both teams.

1) Minnesota (With all the twin cities kids going to school at UND, you have roommates rooting for different teams. changes the whole atmosphere) 2) SCSU (This has really been building the past few years, if SCSU continue to have a good team, this will continue, but if they have a few bad years, the rivalry could drop off) 3) Wisconson (Even though we have not played them a ton in the past few years, and they have sucked even longer, there is too much history to ignore) 4 & 5)Duluth/Mankato (Duluth has struggled for quite so time, but if the team improves and under Sandy it will, these games will return to the glory days/Mankato always seems to be a chippy game, this could start a nicce little rivalery. If they actually become a decent hockey team it may get even better)

Thanks U2 - Haven't read the WOO HOO thread yet, but the comments in the Tallackson thread were dead one. It is just a fact of the game that 3rd and 4th line don't always get to play. U2 - After posting a reply and now reading the 2 dozen other replys, it seems that your link to the poi thread is wrong. The link sends me to a "Tallackson at the WJC", which your comments seemed fine to me. But maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything about Roby. I can not seem to find the proper thread at the poi board. Could you resubmit it. It is not important, but it would help me follow this tread a little better. Thanks

I am in, if this thing gets off the ground (or ice) and there is proper medical personal at the game location. Then again if the game location is close (aka right next door) to a hospital, that would also work.

Hobey Dan = Spehar?? Maybe. Speaking of what happened to Hobey Dan, what ever happended to Spehar? And where is Teeter Wynne playing now. He was playing in Europe and I lost track of him after he left the Steelers. I think he made a brief stop at Fort Wayne. Hope someone knows and thanks in advance

If this is the "biggest promotion" he has ever had. Why is he refusing to take calls on this any more? He should be milking this for all it is worth. There can not be that many more interesting topics in F/M!

U2 - seems like their are a couple fans on the POI site that just having a difficult time with people disagreeing with them. Teams often have times when players see little or no ice time for various reasons. Whether bad play the previous game, hasn't clicked with his linemates, or there are just better players. The 3rd and 4th line have always been "fill-in" players. They are there to give the top two lines a rest. That is just the way it is.. Hell, there were a couple guys on the 1980 USA gold medal time that didn't touch the ice during the entire Olympics I think you were right on with your comments and from that particular thread, have no right to be banned. At least Greyeagle stood up for you!

JBB - Why do you continue to post here? We have already gotten the point that you are a racist and that your purpose on this planet is to direct the entire Sioux nation, who by your actions and words, don't seem to have the ability to speak or think for themselves. But your self-serving sermons are getting old. You obviously have no desire to listen to the Sioux tribe as a whole, and you continue to disgrace them by demanding that they bend to your well. So since you are not helping the Sioux nation out, please tell us your real reason for getting on this soapbox. You must need the publicity for something? Running for public office? Trying to be on the next Survivor series? What? You have already prove to everyone that you are the world's biggest hypocrite. The Fighting Sioux name was taken to honor and respect the local Lakota Sioux tribe, when the LOCAL tribe itself or the NATIONAL Sioux tribe ask the name to be changed, we will listen. (And the last I heard, both still are standing behind the majority of Sioux and respect its usage) BUT when it is a group of self-serving non-Sioux (and SMALL, and I mean SMALL, group of Sioux, but still self-serving) demands that we all should bow down to their whims, we will refuse to listen to their clan speeches. So, JBB, please do us and the Sioux tribe a favor and go away.

JBB - In hearing all sides of this name change issue, that is the single biggest racist remake I have heard. Which in turn adds more flame to the fire, that this whole debate has NOTHING to do with the name being offensive. But rather a soapbox for certain individuals to scam, lie, and deceive the masses for their own person benenfit. Is it that B.R.I.G.D.E.S really means that you sell bridges? Because I have some interest in buying the Golden Gate Bridge. Oh, and by the way, are you sure I am not a Sioux Indian?

I apologize for not getting involved in this thread earlier. But since JBB has been finally given us a counter points to this issue, I will bring up some of the questions I always post when the name change comes up, and are never answered. 1) If Indian/Native American names are racist. Why is it schools and institutions on/or in close proximity to reservations are not being protested and forced to change their names? Examples Fort Yates Standing Rock Community Elementary is the warriors, Fort Totten Junior Senior High is the Indians, and many "reservation" schools in South Dakota use these particular name. The only argument I have every been given for this is that they [reservation schools] use the name honorably. Which is the most blatant use of racism available. 2) If the word "Sioux" is so racist a word, why is it the national Sioux tribe or even regional Sioux tribes change their name to something different. 3) The National Sioux (and they still call themselves "Sioux") tribe and every large-scale poll made of Indians/Native Americans has shown that a majority do not want these changes made. Why is it that a minority group has decided that they know what is best for the whole group? Are you saying that you are some sort of super-intelligent sub-group and you should dictate what is best for humanity? I have many Indian/Native American friends and this puzzles them as well. 4) Other ethic groups, such as the Irish, or Norwegians, or the Finnish have not decided to start a racism war or the use of their ethic names. Why is that? I always hear "Notre Dame F*cking Irish". Or anyone who has been to a Packers game has heard "Vikings Suck". These are the same verbal statements that have cause "Irreversible harm" in Indians/Native Americans, how come it hasn't harmed this other minorities? And don't state it is because these races have been treated differently, because every minority, whether it has been based on race, religion, creed, or color has been treated unfairly through out the world!!!! I have heard that song and dance, and it doesn't hold water. Is it that because other groups can move away from the past, or they finally, grow up, or that they finally see that global acceptance starts with themselves? Please enlighten us with explanation. And please remember that everyone who reads your answer is a minority in some way shape or form. Actually, the questions above are open to all sides of the discussion, but I am really anxious to here from "JBB and associates". Please make your answers, JBB, answers and not the typical "brigdes" partyline responses. Thanks
