UND hits a post? That never happens.

Why is it that every time UND gets back into the game, a dumb penalty takes them back out of it?

End of the 1st. Sioux down 2-1. Denver makes scoring look easy. Sioux make scoring look like a hurculean accomplishment, even though they skate well with DU.

Sioux fan 3 times trying to clear, then DU scores. 2-1 off Greene's leg.

Penalty on Schneider, away from the puck. Not good.

Spirko scores on the PP. 1-1, and UND looks pretty good tonight.

Denver scores from the point. Parise screened. Figures, because UND was skating hard, until they had a little lapse.

I like the energy the guys showed coming onto the ice tonight. If I don't have anything more positive to say later, at least there is this.

I only saw the first half of the game, but here is my take. Lammy didn't have a very good game. I thought he should have had that first goal for sure. Stafford, Zajac, Spirko are the best offensive players on the team. Two freshmen and a soph. That's kind of pathetic. The class of '00-01 has been the biggest disappointment I've ever seen, offensively. Sioux are still over-passing. Remember the 2-on-0 rush where Canady couldn't get his stick on the feed across the net? Shoot the puck when you are in the slot! The other guy can take the rebound, especially when that guy has produced almost no points in his career. And Canady, I thought you were over the stupid penalty phase. Guess not. Stop hurting the team. The puck bounces over the DU goalie's shoulder and onto the top of the net. Are you freakin' kidding me? This team is 1-3-1 in it's last 5 games, and that includes BSU. "Puck luck" is not even applicable. "We are cursed" is probably more like it. I liked the work ethic tonight. A solid game, but the same old problems continue to plague UND. Missed chances. Dumb penalties. Go Sioux.

TH says this is a "Defining weekend" that will make or break the rest of the season.

I wish otherwise, but I don't see UND doing better than a split this weekend. If Murray continues to be sidelined, along with Kaip and McMahon out, we'll be lucky to escape with 2 pts, IMO. The really disturbing thing for me was seeing how flat UND came out vs. BSU last Friday. They reminded me of team USA, when they got hammered by Belarus in the WJC's. It wasn't a lack of effort once the game started, it was a lack of mental preparation. Having suffered three straight losses, I expected more from the Sioux. The competition has been good, but in the last 2 series UND is 1-2-1. Denver will be another good team that will cause problems for the boys. Split this week, and about .500 the rest of the season. Teams don't change much after January. Here's hoping I'm wrong. Go Sioux.

I restate my "question of the year". WHAT THE HELL DOES IT TAKE TO GET THIS TEAM UP TO PLAY FOR THE FIRST PERIOD? It's great to see that they could will a tie tonight. However, this season continues to be a huge downer. Games they should win are falling by the wayside. Again and again. Where is the fire???;)????????

The webcast is flawless tonight. Really top notch. Which is a relief from earlier in the season.

I have to believe UND is trying to kill the free audio in favor of the webcasts. Why else would the problems persist? Unless there is simply gross incompetence at the Ralph, which I cannot believe. I would never have said this 2 years ago, but things have changed.
