Agreed...and the throw to Alex. We fumbled the next play.

Kett needs to stop throwing off his back foot. It stated last week and showed up again on several throws today. He doesn’t have a strong enough arm to get away with it. I think he’ll be fine but needs to work on this.

I don’t think I’m giving him a pass. He brought the safety several times today and I was nervous each time. Today It usually worked. If the safety knocks the ball down again or causes a high throw it was a great call. If the three guys make the tackle who are still out there it isn’t a td.

I’m sure he told the guys to fumble on the goal line and to drop the td pass on 3rd. Rudy didn’t call a great second half (first was pretty good) but it was the execution that hurt us the most.

I agree. We ran that blitz a few times and it worked great. If 3 guys make the tackle we aren’t talking about that play. I do agree the first half we were lost on defense. Just by alignment they had us. They had a blocker for every guy we had in in the box. The running back doesn’t have to be great to get yards when that is the case. Even with the sets they got us in...it was our lack of effort that killed us the most.

Defensive effort is bad right now. Guys standing around. Need a much much better second half.

I was also impressed with our conditioning. To go from practicing in ND to playing that type of game in the heat and humidity...we didn’t tire and cramps weren’t an issue.

Agreed. Huge 4th quarter for both of them.

Huge win the program. Played a sloppy third quarter and still beat a strong fcs opponent in their house.

Can’t have 3 big WRs on the field at the same time. It doesn’t work.

Both lines played. With a little help from the offense the defense would have finished strong. Extremely disappointed with our passing game. Protection was ok. Kett was off today and WRs couldn’t get any separation. I don’t understand bunching three WRs that have the exact skill set. At some point put some speed out there and throw it down the field. John was outstanding. What a player. I was disappointed in how JJ ran today. Gotta keep his head up and hit the right hole. I thought the dbacks played a pretty good game. They got lost a few times but coverage was tight for the most part and they tackled well in space. Would have loved to keep the game closer. Should be a great game next week.

Need to move the pockets. We have open WRs when we have moved around. Also can’t have 3 WRs with the same skill set in on every play.

Need a screen or just throw to the rbs out of the backfield....that or perhaps put a faster we in.
