  1. Mary's seems to be a decent outside-shooting team. They are hitting the cracks in our zone defense. 56 North Dakota 53 Mary 7:53 2nd half
  2. No, watching on the web. See post above. I actually planned on taking my daughter to tonights game since it was a double header, but reconsidered with the weather. I'm 100 miles from Forks, so weekday games are hard.
  3. Basketball is tough for me too. I can really only go on the weekends, and there really aren't always alot of Saturday home games this year. I'm going to USD and the season ending tournament for sure.
  4. 52 North Dakota 47 Mary 11:34 2nd half Mitchell is warming up..........has 11 points, three 3-pointers
  5. Come up this year on Jan 24! They play South Dakota in a double-header matinee! Biggest home game of the year, for sure. Denver in hockey that night! Gonna be fun!!!!!! I love all-day Fighting Sioux sporting events. So does Mrs. bincitysioux!
  6. Attendance is a season high 2,030. Good job Grand Forks!
  7. You guys should make a point of making a few games before that happens!
  8. 42 North Dakota 37 Mary 15:48 2nd half It is really alot of fun to actually see the fruits of the switch to the Princeton offense. It has taken 3 seasons, but more and more often you are actually able to see the guys run it the way it is supposed to be run, and when it works, you can definately see the benefits of it.
  9. Sioux are shooting 65% and 50% from 3 Mary Shooting 52% Mary outrebounding UND 12-9, including 5 offensive rebounds for the Marauders 7 turnovers for North Dakota, 9 for mary UND Scoring leaders: Harkins 11, Harrison 6 Mary Scoring Leaders: Wilhelm 9 (three 3 pointers), Dosch 6
  10. 36 North Dakota 31 Mary Half Mary hit a 3 pointer/prayer at the buzzer to get within 5 The guys are playing pretty good tonight. I really like Monsebroten's game. He does so many of the little things very well when he gets an opportunity to play.
  11. 28 North Dakota 22 Mary 6:58 1st half
  12. The band is actually there. And some students too!
  13. 12 North Dakota 13 Mary 13:33 1st half
  14. I obviously don't know the inner-workings of TV stations as some do, I'll defer to southpaw on that subject. But I will say that, from a personal experience, I know that Charley Johnson has a track record of being somewhat "uncooperative" when it comes to DirecTV. I first became a DirecTV subscriber in 1995 as soon as it became available in my area. I live in a rural location, 100+ miles from Fargo. Before satellite, the only clear station we had was WDAZ (that's the closest transmitter). The other three were all always "snowy". WDAY was unwatchable. This despite our antenna being mounted atop an 80 foot tower! Then DirecTV came and we had the feeds for all four major networks crystal clear. After a few years, when all the hub-ub about the nations local stations being left out (understandable), we lost them all. DirecTV walked us through the waiver process so that we could obtain written approval from the local stations in order to receive the NY/LA network feeds back. KXJB, WDAY, WDAZ, and KVRR all granted the request immediately and the national feeds were restored for CBS, FOX, and ABC. Charley Johnson, then the GM of KVLY was the only one who refused. I wrote him several times and even spoke with him on the phone on one occaison trying to explain our situation to no avail. He reiterated time and again that "there are other avenues beyond DirecTV that will allow you to enjoy NBC programming". We went without NBC for about 2 and a half years, putting up with our "snowy" reception via outdoor antenna when we absolutely had to watch something on that channel, until DirecTV finally picked up Fargo's local stations. I would imagine we will go through this same process as we are now when DirecTV's agreement with KVLY runs out in the future. BTW, who's playing in the AFC championship?
  15. I've heard that the job has been offered, and the candidate accepted. I think it is probably Hardee.
  16. According to the Northern Colorado website, they have San Diego scheduled for that day. According to d2football.com the following have open dates on Sept 12: Southern Oregon (NAIA) Virginia St. Incarnate Word Incarnate Word now has two matching open dates with UND. The stars may be aligning for a showdown with them.
  17. I moved the last 30 posts over to the DI Conference Speculation thread in the Reclassification Forum. They were more relevant to that discussion.
  18. Wayne Nelson weighs in on the scheduling conundrum. That's about the only good news. Tentatively good news of course. Obviously there is another away game brewing that we haven't heard anything about yet. Thanks for the correction. Homecoming is indeed on October 3rd this year. Wayne Nelson said there are currently 4 home games scheduled, including Idaho St. The others are of course Cal Poly, South Dakota, and Sioux Falls. The date has been announced for USF, Poly hosts South Dakota St. on Oct 3rd, so that apparently means that USD is the homecoming opponent. To me, that isn't ideal because USD would be one of the better drawing games by itself, and of course homecoming brings in a big crowd regardless of the opponent. I have also liked keeping the Sioux-Yote game as the season finale as it has been the last several years.
  19. Don't know how up to date that site is, but it is still a good resource. Sept 5 is Texas Tech. The Sioux Falls game is a Thursday night game on Oct 15. As RD17 pointed out, we know that UND is shopping for a home game Nov 7. I would guess that the USD game will be either Nov 14 or 21. My guess, and strictly a guess, is that the Cal Poly game will be on Oct 31 and the UC Davis game Oct 10. I would think the current open dates left to fill are Oct. 3, Nov. 7, and either Nov. 14 or 21 (USD could be either of those dates). Definately not good news about Idaho St. Sounding like a 10 game season for sure now. Like UND92,96 said, it would be nice if we could get something to work out with Central Washington. All of the GNAC teams are possibilities now. Remember that conference played a double round-robin, so every team left just lost 2 games off of their schedules, not just one. A couple posts on Eastern Washington's message board indicated that they were scheduled to play WWU again in '09, so they may be looking for a game again too.
  20. I wonder if this could do anything to nudge Central Washington toward looking into DI. CWU has been a growing power in DII. WWU was a big rival of theirs. Eastern Washington was a big rival of theirs years ago. They would make a nice 6th team for the Great West.
  21. Dan Hammer is weighing in on the subject again today on 740 the Fan. He also seems irritated that Douple told him the exact opposite of what he apparently told Jeff Kolpack.
  22. I'm sure it already is. This is evidence of just how difficult a task that is.
  23. For the upcoming year, they only had one scholarship to offer, and it has been filled I believe.
  24. They are both being less than forthcoming. Here was the body of my email:
