We've already heard this from a contributor to the board, but Wayne Nelson confirms that Northern Iowa will be in GF next year:
Wayne also says that we're going to visit Texas A&M again next season. Tentatively. Anyone who visits the football forum knows to take that word with a grain of salt.
So here is what we think we know:
@ Montana tournament
@ Drake Tournament
@ Iowa State Tournament
@ South Dakota
@ Chicago State
@ NJIT
@ UT-Pan American
@ Houston Baptist
@ Utah Valley
@ Texas A&M
vs. South Dakota
vs. Chicago State
vs. NJIT
vs. UT-Pan American
vs. Houston Baptist
vs. Utah Valley
vs. Northern Iowa
I would think that it is a good bet that Northern Colorado and UMKC will be in Grand Forks as well next year.
I would also think that the Great West tournament will be set up similar to the old NCC tourney where the number 1 seed gets a bye, so there will be at least one playoff game. Or I suppose there could be a play-in game.
As of 1/13/09

Agreed. Just 2 seasons ago in Jone's first season, UND lost 17 games. 12 of them were by an average of 3.5 points. It is nice to see progress being made. 6 of their 9 wins this year have been real nail-biters.
Harkins had 25 points tonight. Man he has played well this year. Makes you wonder what his career could have been like had he not lost virtually 2 full seasons.
Uggh! It is usually us who have the strong finish! Frustrating to say the least.
At any rate, thanks to everyone else for participating in the thread. It is more fun with more than just me in the basketball game thread. They say one is the lonliest number........
Sioux were milking the clock, set and ran a play beautifully that would have iced it, but Bledsoe fumbled the pass out of bounds that would have been a sure lay-up.
Sioux up 3 with 21 seconds left
No, watching on the web. See post above. I actually planned on taking my daughter to tonights game since it was a double header, but reconsidered with the weather. I'm 100 miles from Forks, so weekday games are hard.
Basketball is tough for me too. I can really only go on the weekends, and there really aren't always alot of Saturday home games this year. I'm going to USD and the season ending tournament for sure.
Come up this year on Jan 24! They play South Dakota in a double-header matinee! Biggest home game of the year, for sure. Denver in hockey that night! Gonna be fun!!!!!! I love all-day Fighting Sioux sporting events. So does Mrs. bincitysioux!
