Good luck against the Gophers
Runninwiththedogs replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
That happens a lot to Jordy... -
Dork, you know I know what you look like. You'll probably get there before me, anyway.
-
sounds like a plan
-
Yeah they work great, at least when MafiaMan's son isn't turning the volume down.
-
I'll prob get there at 7 or 7:15.
-
The Bloomington Senser's got a remodel, it's great now. You should come out to Bloomington tonight, and then of course Roseville tomorrow.
-
From the school? Because club hockey teams have to fund a lot of their expenses themselves.
-
Hey, Bloomington tonight sounds good, count me in
-
Hey now, we would definitely like some national championships... oh man I can't even defend this because your post totally cracked me up.
-
What I meant was it is not exclusive to the Gophers the way that FSSN is for the Sioux. Sorry for the miscommunication.

I'm in for Saturday in Roseville, I PMed you. MafiaMan, are you going to go to the thing in Roseville? Or should we do Friday night in Bloomington?

27 YEAR DROUGHT ENDS IN NEW JERSEY!
Runninwiththedogs replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
I can't believe you said that, it's so great! Thank you for not just saying "Minnesota" like they're the whole freaking state. -
Let's get it straight, the Fox Sports North is for the GOPHERS not MINNESOTA because they could care less about MSU-M, UMD, St. Cloud, and Bemidji State. There is a huge difference between FSSN and FSN-North. FSN-North is not the Gophers' personal TV station (which is another rant for another board) so why not have guest announcers? Word from the Penalty Box is some people are unhappy with Bruce Ciskie because he is too negative about the team, but I have noticed the KDAL broadcast team is pretty fair and gives credit where credit is due. Bruce is brand new this year though, so he doesn't have 17 years of Bulldog hockey games behind him. I don't see anything wrong with being a homer though. Aren't we all?
-
Just because you allow a lot of shots against UMD does not necessarily mean it's a bad thing... the Dogs are constantly out-shooting their opponents and losing. But hey! Don't lump us in with Tech, for crying out loud!
-
I'm free both nights.
-
Didn't see that... but when I did see him play (against UMD) I thought he was playing a lot better than Kessel was. This was much earlier in the season, of course, so I will be watching more closely this weekend to see if maybe he just played well that series and Kessel played so-so. Of course how will I know how Kessel plays when he is sent crying to the bench after Smaby takes care of him?
-
I didn't realize which goal that was and made a really boneheaded post... But how did you know that was my favorite Spirko goal ever??? I was screaming my head off after that and the Gopher band geeks were yelling at me. Plus the "letter" keeps cracking me up.
-
I'm probably going to make it.
-
I looked at the goaltending and I thought "Isn't there anyone better?" But Frazee isn't going to have the Gophers D out in front of him, so maybe he'll be better. I am SO PUMPED to see Matt Niskanen on that list, and it is awesome for Oshie, Lee and Chorney. Wheeler and Kessel should be good (yeah yeah I said it... but I still think Wheeler is better). Paukovich is a surprise. But he must be doing something right, I guess.
-
I agree with your predictions, I hope Kozek gets some recognition. Not to say that I don't want Raymond to get it but it's nice to see another one of the freshmen step up. My one question about your comparison between Smaby and Finley is, who made a bigger impact as a freshman? It's nice to see someone not taking penalties (especially in this league), but is it a result of smart play or tentative play? I guess when your size works against you it's hard not to play with a little reserve. I just peeked at his stats though and he's getting more penalties than I thought, which sort of weakens my point. Oh well. Now, what's this about me not being a Sioux fan?
-
Maybe he just means crippled like they just got swept and shut out in their own house?
-
Spirko will shut them up with the 2 hat tricks he'll be getting next weekend. I would not be opposed to meeting up w/people at Joe Senser's in Bloomington to watch the game, so if anyone else is interested let me know. I do not expect there to be a big margin of victory in these games, but I do predict the Sioux will be VICTORIOUS. 3 points, minimum. Kessel scores no goals.
-
This thread is a nice idea, but it never stops people from posting updates on the main thread. Oh well. Dogs tied 'Kato 2-2. I didn't listen, but Mcknight came through for the 'Dogs for the 2nd night in a row. I had a good laugh about the Gophers being shut out, too.
-
Hey guys, sorry I missed the game, I had to work I notice there are plenty of people picking up for me though... What a night! I guess Stafford couldn't let Spirko have all the attention, what a great game for him, including a short handed goal. Kozek could have been right there with him, too. And I know a lot of you have been watching for Watkins to score, great to see him get one. It was nice of you guys to let Tech think they actually had a chance for a little bit. I feel bad for them though, because they are going against a hot hot hot Wisconsin next week. They're going to be hungry hungry Huskies for quite awhile. Kick the Goofs when they're down. I'll be watching both nights! Spirko = 2 hat tricks next weekend.

It's 4-3 in OT at the MWCCCCCCC Go CC Go UAA (I guess) Way to go Spirko on his 3 awesome goals, and I hope he gets 3 more tomorrow!!!! Sweep!
