  1. Great effort by the Bison yesterday. For those of you familiar with midwest football, why do the programs at Minnesota-Twin Cities and Indiana never really do much other than a pretty good season here and there? I know these two states are not known for great high school football, but don't they try to recruit good footbal states like Ohio,Texas,California,Georgia, etc.? By the way, what a comeback by Michigan State.

  2. Thanks Fighting Sioux fans. I can't believe this is basically the same team that 12 months ago was blown out by South Florida AT HOME! THe only other time that Rutgers was 7-0 was in 1961 and 1976. Both seasons we ended up undefeated and also in 1976 the basketball team went to the Final Four. There are so many people jumping on the bandwagon around the state. Next Sunday night we have Connecticut on ESPN and then Louisville comes in on November 9 on ESPN. People will be allowed to stand in our open end zone and even the band had to give up their seats. The university is hoping the fire marshall takes the day off!

  3. Thanks a lot Fighting Sioux fans. Here are our upcoming games-Oct 21 vs Pittsburgh(ESPN/2),Oct 29 vs Connecticut(ESPN), Nov 9 vs Louisville(ESPN), Nov 18 (probably MSG), Nov 25 vs Syracuse(probably MSG), and Dec 2 vs West Virginia(ESPN/2).

    GO FIGHTING SIOUX!

    GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!

  4. Thanks for the optimism guys, but I think we will finish about 9-3 with losses against West Virginia,Louisville, and probably Pittsburgh. My WebpageJust a few years ago, it would have taken us three seasons to get nine wins. The level of interest here in New Jersey is probably not at the level that the Fighting Sioux or Bisons are in North Dakota, but here is a good article from today's Star-Ledger about our improvement and the benefits to the university--

    GO NORTH DAKOTA!

    GO RUTGERS!

  5. Thanks for the good words, Sioux fans. After that mess in Miami this weekend, I am LESS worried about Coach Schiano going down there. I can't even explain how much things are turning around here. The stores that never even carried Rutgers shirts, jerseys, hats, etc. now are selling them as fast as they put them on the shelves. Ticket sales for this season have soared. My brother-in-law asked my eight year old nephew if he wanted to bring a couple friends to the Louisville game and at last count FORTY of the friends' parents, neighbors, cousins, dogs, goldfish, etc. are going with them. We have six games left and four of them,Pittsburgh,Connecticut,Louisville, and West Virginia, will be on ESPN. We already have eleven recruits for next year who wouldn't even have visited just a few years ago. Each win and each week makes me think more and more that he is going to stay.

    GO NORTH DAKOTA!

    GO RUTGERS!

  6. I was on the North Dakota tourism website and was surprised to see the leaves turning already for a few weeks in North Dakota. Here in New Jersey, the trees(yes,we have trees) just started last week and it is still 70 today but expected to drop into low 50's in a couple days. By far, this is my favorite season of the year. The pictures I have seen of North Dakota look beautiful--hope you all know how fortunate you are to have such huge areas of uncongested land.My Webpage
