  1. Siouxmama,

...but will I still be a world-class violinist? Speaking of medicine, it is WAYYYYY past me bedtime. Another day is gone back here in the East. Time for me to put my teeth in the tupperware dish and get some shut-eye. Good (SCARLET) KNIGHT!!!!

  2. We will be playing Kansas State on December 28 in the Texas Bowl at the Houston Texans' stadium. It would have been nice to play in the Orange Bowl, but I and everyone else around here are very happy with a 10-2 season. As of right now, the only station televising the game is NFL Network, but Rutgers and the Big East Conference are trying to get them to also show it on a national superstation(such as WWOR). I think even less people get NFL Network than those who get CSTV and ESPNU.

    GO FIGHTING SIOUX!--BEAT WISCONSIN!

    GO RUTGERS!--BEAT KANSAS STATE!

  3. I hope no one out there believes this group represents Baptists specifically or Christians in general. After living in three states,New Jersey, Virginia, and South Carolina, I have never met any Baptists who would participate in or agree with their actions. Hopefully they will focus their hearts toward JESUS and leave the families alone.

  4. Received my Sioux jacket--looks great and the Fighting Sioux logo on the back and "NORTH DAKOTA" letters on the front are very nice. Now the question is if I make it up to Dartmouth and I wear my Tim Skarperud jersey and this jacket, will the Dartmouth fans be hostile and abusive to me!!!

    GO NORTH DAKOTA!

    GO RUTGERS!

  5. Big Game,

We will need to play a perfect game to win tonight. No turnovers, few penalties and we REALLY need to score first. The weather for this may be brutal which should help a running team like ours. I think everyone around here will be very surprised if Coach Schiano leaves. He and his wife are from here and they just started building a new house about a mile from campus. He took our program from a national laughingstock to a chance tonight to get to a BCS bowl(probably the Orange Bowl). We blew away previous attendance records. At the beginning of this year, we had only 11,000 season tickets. This week, new applications were available for next season and 6,000 new people have already ordered new season tickets. At the very least after tonight, we will be going to a bowl game two years in a row after only going to one in 137 years. Expanding the stadium from 42,000 to 60,000 is probably a year or two away. He was just named Coach of the Year and his contract runs until 2012. My guess is within a month or so there will be a new contract for more money and more years. From a recruiting standpoint, it is like we went from a Big Wheel to a racing motorcycle in just a few years. We have almost 15 players who have given verbals for next year and rivals.com has almost every one rated at 3,4, or 5 stars. On a good year, we used to get two players rated at two stars. Some seasons we didn't even get that. I don't know if we can ever win a National Championship, but I think Coach Schiano can have a consistent Top 15 program here. I will be VERY surprised if he goes back to Miami.

    GO FIGHTING SIOUX!

    GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!

  6. With all the traffic I sit in Jim, I could put a siouxsports.com bumper sticker on my car and bring in thousands of new fans( and that is just in one morning) ! Thank you VERY much for your effort and time with the site.

    GO NORTH DAKOTA!

    GO RUTGERS!

  7. Sprig, I just called the 888-777-3949 number to order a pro team jacket for my nephew and I asked about North Dakota and the CSR told me they have all sizes for the Sioux. Either one of the CSR's is wrong or they just got more in.

    GO NORTH DAKOTA!

    GO RUTGERS!

  8. Trunk,

Hope things go well with your friend--a lot is happening lately. In addition to our football team having a great year, there has been a lot of movement toward expanding the stadium to 60,000. The new baseball stadium is being built with new fieldturf and stands. Lights are in the near future. Both soccer teams made it to the NCAA's. The girls basketball team is one of the top programs in the nation. Men's basketball is going to have a rough year, but the new coach is the guy who recruited the current players of Villanova which is one of the top teams this year. Your friend may want to investigate a company called Nelligan Sports Marketing--they do quite a lot of work for Rutgers. Take care.

  9. Brian Leonard tweeked a hamstring, but should play saturady against Syracuse. My guess is that if we get a decent lead,he will be spotted by true freshman fullback Jack Corcoran. Ray Rice is said to be limping a bit because of te heavy workload he has had for the team. Again, I hope we will get a lead and true freshman Kordell Young will get a fair amount of playing. In my thirty years of watching Rutgers football, I don't ever remember seeing a back with the moves Young has shown in his limited playing time. Hope he will have some great years coming up.

    GO FIGHTING SIOUX--BEAT NEBRASKA-OMAHA!

    GO SCARLET KNIGHTS--BEAT SYRACUSE!

  10. Now I remember what it was like in the pre Brian Leonard and Ray Rice days-both were injured during the game. With both of them playing hurt, it was up to our QB who threw four interceptions and when he did hit our guys the receivers dropped the passes. For the first time this year, we had very little pass rush which meant that the weakest part of the team, our secondary, was on center stage. As mush as I didn't like losing last night, everyone around here is still VERY happy with nine wins and two games to go. Three or four years ago, we would have lost that game 56-0.

    GO NORTH DAKOTA--BEAT NEBRASKA-OMAHA!

    GO RUTGERS--BEAT SYRACUSE!

  11. #7 IN THE NATION!!!!!

I am shocked they ranked us this high. It is hard to describe what we are going through here. If the Fighting Sioux played hockey for 137 years and only went to the NCAA's twice and most other seasons won about 8-9 games, imagine how your state would be reacting if you were having an undefeated season and every game was on ESPN. That is where we are right now. No one wants the dream season to end. As for my seats, I sit about 15 rows from the field on the 47. This is pretty much where I have sat since I got season tickets in 1983. I was two years-old that year :D

GO RUTGERS AND NORTH DAKOTA--CONTINUE THE GREAT SEASONS!!!!
