jloos, Thanks for the kind words about Omaha. Omaha has always been a pretty big Hockey Town. The Lancers need to get some of the credit for that . They recently have turned off some people in Omaha because they moved over to Council Bluffs Iowa into a new arena and changed the name to River City. This year they changed it back to Omaha. The UNO hockey team is doing better this year after a few down years. This weekend they play back at the bullpen where they used to play before the Qwest Center was built. The Civic Auditorium (bullpen) is a better hockey venue because the fans are right on top of you. But the Qwest is a great facility that is similar to the Ralph. People are questioning whether Omaha can support three teams with the AHL team coming in. Youth hockey is getting better here. It is hard to find ice time with all the teams. By the way the new owners of the Lancers are Mario Lemieux (sp), Luc Robitalle (sp) and Mike Eurizone of olympic fame. Thats pretty cool. UNO rules

UNO wins at St.Cloud last night. It appears you should have an easy game against Augustana this weekend.

It appears Omaha is getting an AHL team that is part of the Calgary Flames organization.

Hadn't heard much from him lately, so not much of a surprise. Still pretty cool that someone from the NCC played in the NBA.

SDSU only had a little over 1,000 last night. They used to pack them in.

UND guy, You are right about the BSA. Not what I would call a D1 arena. I thought they were going to try and fix it up.

Does anyone know what they are using Hyslop for currently and what their long range plans for the gym are. I saw a game there and loved it. Does it look the same as it used to? Did they take down all the banners? Thanks for the info in advance.

I just wondered if the long term plans are to play at either the Betty or the Ralph. Or will they continue to play at both venues.

I wish I would have seen a game at the game at the old arena. I just wondered what they use the old arena for and is there any plans to tear it down?

UNO has played a home and home with Minnesota State the last few years so I would love to get a least one home and home with the Sioux.

As I UNO hockey season ticket holder I am wondering why we don't play the Sioux once in awhile. We have played most of the teams in the WCHA. I seems like a logical rivalary. I would love to watch a game in your great hockey venue. We have a nice new one to visit down here in Omaha as well. UNO Rules

Nice win over Minnesota State. Find it weird how you blow UNO out and then USD comes up there and beats you and then UNO goes to Vermillion and beats them. I think that just shows parity.

I think that is awesome that they have a D2 basketball board. I figured that they would get one someday since they have D2 football.com.

SDSU fans will have you believe that everything is OK. They will never admit that they might have made the wrong choice.

As a UNO fan I will be anxious to see what visions he has for the NCC. I have to admit it was kind of exciting to envision UNO going to a new conference. I would like to see the Northern Sun and NCC combine but I don't think it will happen.

Why is the NCC waiting so long to name a commish? What is the holdup?

Why do you save your best games for us and lay an egg against USD?

Hats off to both UND teams. Girls got some serious revenge. I will say if you told me that we would split the series with UND, I would have taken it in a heartbeat regardless of the score. Mens team played flat and against a good team like UND you are asking for trouble. Mckenna said in postgame that this was the first time all season that our teams effort level was poor. Tough game at USD on Thursday.

UNO and the Sioux had two great games last weekend. What's going to happen this weekend? I like your women to get revenge and I think our men win in a squeaker. UNO Rules

I would add the congrats to your mens team for knocking us off. But I also have to give credit to our womens team for knocking off the lady sioux. Broke a long losing streak of losses. Sound like Roebuck didn't take the loss well. He stormed off the court and didn't want to talk to the press. See you next weekend.

You guys have signed a great recruiting class. We finally have something to be excited about at UNO as far as womens basketball is concerned. Our coach came from Fort Lewis, her team played you tough in the regional tournament. The mavs will be much more disciplined and better coached. What remains to be seen is how well she recruits. We are precicted to finsish last. I will say fifth. I would love to see the new betty. Just curious, any of you going to miss hyslop. I saw a UNO-UND game there and i loved it. UNO Rules

I am sure the girls would be flattered that we are talking about them on a slow sports day. I love watching girls compete in athletics. The fact that some of them are good looking is icing on the cake.
