After the game though, my friends and I will go outside, pretend to be a tornado and tip over your trailer if you want."

You are right, the home field did help UND, but it isn't what won the game for them. The team with or without the home field, played their best game in 2 years. They dominated yesterday.

But it isn't just hockey that uses this rule. There is also Lacrosse amoung probably many other sports. John Hopkins is a DIII team, should they also not be allowed to play DI in lacrosse?

The kiss cam sign needs to have mistletoe added to it. Or just hang the mistletoe over the penalty box.

Tickets were already available to be purchased for this game correct? Then I think the rest of the tickets should be made avaiable to UND and GVSU. Why should they be limited to 2800? Then if some tickets aren't sold, they can go back to the general public on say friday.

Starz you make it sound like the guys are showing up to games at Neeland Stadium in formal gowns or something. I think UNA fans should be thanking us for not playing this game at Memorial Stadium. You guys would've died! It was cold out with that wind. The dumbest thing about what the UNA fans have described is that the people doing the stupid taunting weren't intimidating anyone. How does making fun of the cheerleaders do any good? And using racial slurs doesn't intimate people. We can intimidate and annoy players without that. And I know the people around me did do that. One guy got called a retard by a UNA player. That player was then shot with water by his teammate. Funny. You are right, you didn't make a blanket statement. Still we have to try to defend ourselves because we don't want to be associated with the idiots.

Well I do see other things besides what is on the ice you know. I was watching the refs go off the ice so I saw it. You shoulda kicked him in the junk. That is the great equalizer. Then when the security guard came, not only would you have got the puck, he would've gotten laughed at and kicked out. It's a win, win, win situation!

Don't be silly. Who here has defended people spitting on you or using racial slurs? Just imagine the roles were reversed, how much would you like it if UND fans made blanket statements about how all UNA fans are horrible people? You'd probably take a bit of offense to it I would think. I attend mostly hockey games on the road and I'm always subject to taunting, I shrug it off as no big deal. Maybe it was different today, but I didn't hear any swearing, fingers or racial taunts. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, it does mean it didn't happen around me though. So not all of us are the anti-christs.

I still don't understand how the students taunted the cheerleaders in the first half when the cheerleaders were so far away. What exactly were the students/whomever saying? As cali says, don't judge everyone by a couple of drunken schmucks. I certainly don't say anything to cheerleaders unless they bring it upon themselves. And even then I don't say derogatory things. I am actually suprised by this, because as I said it seemed to me that this was about the best behaved the students have ever been. No one around me swore or did anything. I guess there was that one bullsh^t chant, but that was it. I gotta say that the fat cop who came running out with UNA was freaking hillarious to see. Somehow just the way he ran was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

I heard that one of your players that was suspended it was because he took something of his roomates, nothing illegal, to help him stay up to study or something like that. This was second hand, but the guy who told me said he was told by a parent of a UNA player, who is a minister. So I believe him. Do you know if this is true or am I just looney? There is something goofy here as where the cheerleaders were for the first half is about 30 yards from the student section. It ends in the section that you were in. As far as the students who were taunting them in the 2nd half, those are the morons who tailgate, get drunk and then make asses out of themselves at the game. It is unfortunate.

The cheerleaders were always pretty much in the endzone when they were on the field, correct? If so, then the idiots who were saying things to them weren't students. I was right on the edge of the student section and we pretty much left the cheerleaders alone. We may have said a couple things to them like they sucked, they were ugly, but that is about as far as it went. We were making fun of that big boy, #51 and Hall. But again it was nothing bad. This game was the most we have left the players alone. We hardly made fun of them at all. We were too into the game to worry about them.

UND shutdown Will Hall rather effectively today and this defense isn't as good as 2001 defense was. Just because you win the Harlon Hill doesn't mean you can't be shutdown by a good defense. It is damn tough to do, but it is possible. If the WR can't get open because the DB are on them like glue and QB can't scramble because the DE are on him before he can even fart, the QB can be shutdown. I'm not saying GVSU wouldn't have won. But to say that the Lakers certainly would've won if Anes had played, isn't right either. Anes was a very good QB, but he wasn't Michael Vick. Where is Anes playing now? Just wondering.

He may not have been. As has been said, having two different qb's kept UND off balance. The two previous games, UND absolutely shutdown Pitt State and Neil Philpot. That was pretty impressive. But then they shutdown UC-Davis and J.T. O'Sullivan. We heard so much about how great he was supposed to be and the Sioux dominated, making big plays when they needed to. Who is to say they couldn't have done it to Anes?

The visiting team is always placed behind the student section. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me either. But how could the cheerleaders have constantly been harrassed from start to finish? They were on the field for the first half and there were not even spoken to. In the second half I can not speak for. What kind of racial slurs were there? Maybe there are some moron students. In fact there are. But I know for a fact that no racial slurs were used around me. In fact there was no swearing. None. We were too busy yelling and screaming to swear. We made many drug references though. Also you should've stopped throwing all that damn confetti on us.

Gotta agree. I'm not sure GVSU fans know how good that defense was. They are always saying how Anes would've won the game for them for certain. I don't know about that. Eric Schmidt and Co. could've been knocking Anes around like a punching bag. Didn't GVSU have to make a comeback like UND did in 2001, last year to beat Valdosta? I'm think that the Lakers were way up, then Valdosta came back and the Lakers had to score at the end to win it. After the debacle that happened today in DI football, isn't everyone glad the BCS isn't used in D2? Neither UND or GVSU would be playing in this game if the stupid BCS was used.

I don't see how he can't move up. He is a great coach. He took a team in 2001 that was pretty good, but wasn't overly talented and won a NC with them. This year he took a team that had even less talent, but could be a good team, and he could win another NC. He finds a way to get the most out of all his players. Nebraska!
