  1. He is if he takes his lutefisk with cream sauce.

Oh, now I see Sprig's claiming German ancestry.  Same here, Sprig, but it doesn't stop you from eating lutefisk.  I'll be filling up on it this Friday night as a matter of fact.

Dagies, that is something you should never have posted in a public forum.  Now, if you ever decide to sell your house you'll have to answer the following question honestly in the disclosure section.

To your knowledge, has lutefisk ever been manufactured or cooked in this house?

  2. I know which path I want to take.

The only thing stopping UND from taking this path is You.  Get out your checkbook and send Faison the money today and I'm sure he could make the announcement tomorrow.

  3. As I've said to NDSU fans, I'll say here:

How things are today is how they'll always be.

(And if you believe that I have this for sale.)

How Much you asking?  I've purchased some from you in the past and they've all been in disrepair.  I'd want a 5 year maintenance plan included in the deal.

  4. Really! That would be the biggest mistake in the history of sports to turn down a big ten invite.

Actually, UND would bring some credibility to Big Ten hockey. Instead of a half empty Mariucci Arena their season ticket holders would start attending games again. The Kohl Center would fill up and each the other Big Ten schools would sell several thousand more tickets.

  5. I can see McDonald being a potential thorn on this committee.

McDonald probably came out of the same mold as Ron His Horse is Thunder, David Gipp, Leigh Jennotte, Erich Longie and Lucy Gange. If so, they should have also named someone like Sam Dupris to the committee.

  6. The first mistake perpetrated by/on the people of North Dakota was that they did not process this as a BIG deal. It was and is a very very big deal. The mentality that must be present in order to aqueous to such atrocities becomes inveterated.

It is indubitably a disconcerting sign of our time on so many levels that this identity rape was allowed.

gfhockey, is that you writing this?  ;-)

  7. UNO doesn't draw TV fans. Only one of their opponents drew.

Yup, I think you nailed it....CC vs Nebraska-Omaha (30,000 viewers).....Nebraska-Omaha vs Denver (38,000 viewers)......North Dakota vs Nebraska-Omaha (146,000 viewers). I wonder why UNO was able to pull in so many more viewers when they played the Sioux?

  8. With that said, the fan's decibels will be higher this weekend in St. Cloud than they will be in February when St. Cloud plays at the Ralph. That sounds apples to apples to me.

No, it's not apples to apples.  You're saying that SCSU is as big of a draw at The Ralph as the Sioux are in St. Cloud?  Not even close.

Why is Mariucci Arena packed and buzzing when the Sioux are in town?  Why was it half empty and like a morgue last weekend?

SCSU's next home games are on January 2nd and 3rd.  Go to those games and then report back on the great atmosphere at the Brooks Center.

  9. Sure it can wow some recruits but if I were a recruit on a scouting visit my observation of game time atmosphere would play a big role in my decision. The Ralph lacks this in most games big time. Go to a game or two in st cloud this weekend. At least und and the husky fans bring an atmosphere in clown town.

You say "go to a game or two this weekend".

Have you ever been to an SCSU game other than when the Sioux are there? It's not all that impressive. It's quite naive to come to the conclusion that SCSU has overall great atmosphere on their big weekend with the Sioux in town. It must be like this all the time, right?

You ever been to Magness Arena when the Sioux are in town? You ever been to Magness Arena when the Sioux aren't in town? You ever been to Mariucci Arena when the Sioux are in town? You ever been to Mariucci Arena when the Sioux aren't in town? You ever been to the Kohl Center when the Sioux are in town? You ever been to the Kohl Center when the Sioux aren't in town? You could make your comparison with just about every team in the country. These arena's are dead when any team, other than the Sioux, is in town.

Overall, The Ralph's atmosphere is better than any other arena in the country. You just need to get out and make apples to apples comparisons.

  10. The older I get the fewer assumptions I make about what other people are and aren't/should and shouldn't be capable of. Typically hidden from us are the details of a person's life that better inform us about their present situation.

Doesn't mean I don't forget this at times. But I do it less often than when I was younger and smarter than everyone.

Very well put Dagies. Isn't that what I said? ;)

  11. After reading about his lack of intelligence, it's all coming together. This kid simply doesn't fit the college mold. It's pretty tough not to get into UND (no disrespect, great school).

This is really a stupid comment. (no disrespect) :silly:

  12. If he preferred to be at UND he would be at UND.

No he wouldn't. There are a lot of hockey players who would prefer to be at UND but their not. There are a lot of hockey players that would prefer to be at Boston College, Michigan or Wisconsin, but their not. Just because a player would prefer to be at any of these schools doesn't mean he will be.

  13. Mantha is gone, NYR has a strong preference for the CHL for some odd reason. Oh well

You're wrong. I don't believe the NYR have a strong preference for the CHL over the NCAA. I doubt his decision had nothing to do with the Rangers putting any pressure on him. I suspect he'd prefer to be at UND but sometimes it just can't work out.

  14. I see Brad Schlossman noted that 6 former Sioux are Captains/Ass't Captains on NHL teams: Toews, Oshie, Greene, Parise, Stafford & Zajac.

That seems like a lot. Do any other college teams even come close to that? What does it say about the coaching staff's ability to develop top players and leaders?
