Didn't seem to help UND hockey. In sports like basketball and hockey, losing 5-8 guys every year is hard to sustain winning. SDSU men dealt with it this year and NDSU and UND are dealing with annually. In the last 2 years, NIL has put 3 UND players in Cal (ACC), Washington (Big 10), and now South Carolina (SEC). Figuring out how to sustain and kind of success when an average program losing 3 guys to schools like this is really hard. I'm not sure anyone is Summit has it figured out.

Big corporations, not a lot. A pool of NHL players, current and alums who are worth millions of dollars, we have a lot. Time to give back

The point of firing coaches used to be about making players uncomfortable. Dane's hiring keeps them feeling good about who they are, are we really better? I'd prefer a team that hasn't seen the frozen 4 in 9 or 10 years play uncomfortable; we'll see.

The head coach hurt the culture but his Asst coach helped the culture??? That's insane, but whatever.

You cannot compare recruiting at Mayville St to what is done at UND. Rural ND/Minn. has kids everywhere that can play NAIA basketball. UND can maybe find 1 or 2 players in state that are DI players. When you get to Minnesota, DI, DII, and DIII schools exist everywhere and the competition for recruiting is nuts. UND needs to be in both states as well all states between Illinois to Colorado recruiting. Just my 2 cents but recruiting is hard 🙂

SDSU doesn't take transfers. Coach commits to his recruits and hopes they reciprocate. It's worked very well for him, obviously.

I don't see this hire coming from within. You are paying a guy $439,000 to NOT coach and you're hiring one of his asst coaches because he'll do it differently? That makes xero sense; just pay Brad for 1 more year and then move on.

He took a redshirt year, didn't love the school, who knew academics were emphasized at Cal? 😉
