They play hockey to earn their money. You don’t understand that NIL was just a way to trick the NCAA committees into allowing it to happen. It was always meant to be pay for play and we are a few months away from that being reality. (To answer your question, at most schools, they have a set of standards the athlete has to abide by to keep getting paid by the collective. It’s not all commercials and appearances.)

True, but also was 5th in goals for the team. He got hot at the end of the year and he was one of the few guys that I thought always played hard every game no matter if they were scoring or not. Plenty of other guys you can’t say the same for.

I’d prefer a forwards coach so Jax can focus on the overall team during practice.

My point is, if you want to be serious, you have to get serious financial backing to run the thing from a sponsor who basically just uses profits from their business to pay the employees running it and the employee running it has to make it their full time job. North Dakota will lag behind until that happens. It’s too bad the Engelstad family’s deep love for UND hockey has wavered since Ralph.
