No need to downgrade conference affiliation just to play SD schools. A more logical step would be to try get USD & SDSU to agree to VB and m&w basketball contracts so that we had one SD school at home and the other on the road each year in each sport.

UND already tried that. Didn't work.
The Big Sky is a great conference with some great schools. I hope we are a long term member.

The only conferences that UND should consider leaving the Big Sky for are the MAC or Mountain West.

Isn't the ice making equipment and compressor being replaced this summer as part of the remodel? If I'm not mistaken it was reported that the request for bids went out early this spring.

Didn't we have a thread started by a visiting fan about hotels, restaurants, game day activities, etc? I thought that it was a season or two ago and ended up being a few pages long with some good info. I went back a ways but didn't notice it. Possible it was mixed in with a season or game thread.

People debate the TV packages that UND, the Big Sky, and the NCHC have all the time. But when it comes down to it Midco is a great partner to have in the athletic department's corner. They spend a lot of time, money and resources helping to promote UND.

Actually their laughing cat logo was never really that popular with their fan base. Three years ago they gave it a bit of a facelift to add more detail and make it look more like an actual bobcat.
And they got a much better deal than we did.

There was more to USD getting into the MVFC than what Patty V reported to the media. And USD was very shady in how they treated the Big Sky and what they told BSC officials (and UND) during all of it.
On the same note, there were many in the USD athletic department that actually preferred to go to the Big Sky. But the SD BOR wanted to keep them with SDSU and help cement Sioux Falls as a Summit tournament location.
