Sorry I got tied up after the game and didn't get to post anything. I would agree with most thoughts posted above.
I think with King back we will see a starting lineup of Panoam, King, Trey, Woodson, Amar. With Reggie, Mara, Mayar, & Mathews coming off the bench.
I liked what Panoam brought last night. Big body. Just needs to shoot it well enough to make the defense guard him at the 3 point line and then he can attack the paint.
Trey is going to have to be a scoring machine this year. Which I think he will be. Wouldn't be surprised if he averages 20+.
Mara will be better coming off the bench. He's still learning & getting comfortable but I think he looked more than capable of being an energy/defense guy off the bench. And knocking down open 3's.
Woodson looked solid. Moves well. Long & athletic. Got a good looking shot. He'll be good for us at the 4.
Reggie will be a good scoring option off the bench. He can get hot quick. Very good full court defender as well. Quick hands & feet.
I'd agree with the thoughts on Mayar. Doesn't look like he plays a whole lot of team ball and can force things. 8-10 minutes off the bench would be the sweet spot I think as he still provides some things like length, size, and rebounding ability.
Amar as our starting 5 scares me a bit. Mathews is a big body but he's really in there just for defense/rebounding.
Like others have said in the past, if Kraft gets minutes then it would have to be because of injury. Kind of like we saw tonight. They gave him 5 minutes at the end of the half. Let's hope there are no injuries this year!
Overall, it was a solid showing. You could tell it was the first live game and players were rusty, but I think we have a lot of really good options and players that can play some nice roles. I think we are a top 3 team in the Summit this year.
