Horizon league would be awesome, but there is so many schools within 200-300 mile radius of all those schools that they tend to go south or east to get like opponent games and cut down on travel.
-
IMO, I think you will see the Summit league do something to get rid of some the Non D1 games.. whether that's doing more conference "clashes" or mandating only 2 non d1 games.. etc.. I think we will see something like that moving forward.
-
I also stated why they don't schedule teams like that. It is not worth the risk to stumble against someone like Jamestown. So you schedule Northland, win by 100 and move on to the next one.
-
You are right, it's really easy to schedule D1 Home games because other teams around the country have a strong desire to travel to Grand Forks, ND for a Thursday game in November-December. Noone likes it, it sucks. But it is what it is right now.
-
If you're going to have to play a Non D1- you want that game to be a guaranteed win- No reason to play good teams at a lower lever because UND assumes all the risk.
-
I'm not happy with the performance- I'm not going to jump to conclusions on this team 1 game into season. They laid an egg last night, plain and simple.
-
Don't need to engage with you and the crew while you're playing the hits.. been there done that.
-
Looking through my post and I don't see me saying anyone is calling for anyone to be fired except my opinion. Maybe you're reading into something that isn't there. Please let me know. Thanks!
-
So you're saying don't overreact to a Power 5 blowout loss on that teams home court? How dare you, fire everyone.

-
Wasn't Horner involved in that too?
-
My guess is Eli, Trey, Bj, Deng, T
-
I think he’s yawning
-
Everyone on UND will contribute- everyone else in conference had bad offseason-excited for season
-
Correct, his waiver was denied. It is currently in appeal, so it's not totally dead just mostly dead.

They could play Amar at the 5 and T at the 4 as well if they wanted to. They have some interesting ways they could go at 2-3-4, should be fun!

Still no news on Tyree....
-
No clue on him... My guess is it will take a little bit of time until he is ready to contribute but I honestly do not know on him.
-
He has averaged 20.1 mpg in his career. 26.3 mpg last year... that will not change this season, IMO.

Correct, we all understand that shooting is probably going to cost UND a couple games this year because there will be nights where they go 5-25 from 3. Where I think they will be better is scoring in transition and in the paint. Noone is arguing with you that shooting is a concern, because it is. Brady will play 20+ minutes a night, not because of his shooting or lack of shooting. He has a great feel on the court, he makes a ton of hustle plays, he makes the right play most of the time, and is no question the leader of this team. So yes, UND isn't going to play like they did last year where they hucked up 35+ 3's a night... they're going to have to run more and attack the basket in the full court and the half court and the 30% 3 point shooters are going to have to kick a few wide open 3's in a game. My guess is you see these 8 a lot assuming Tyree is ineligible Eli Brady Treysen BJ Elijah Deng T Amar It will be important for Trey to continue to shoot at a high percentage and the floor should open up if T can continue to pull 5's out.
-
You are arguing with yourself. I don’t think anyone wants Brady shooting a basketball after a dribble… i agree with you. there just aren’t many guys that can shoot a high percentage coming off screens, side step, step back 3’s… that’s just a fact. carry on
-
Generally speaking.... there are not many guys that are high level shooters off the dribble. Since you guys like synergy so much, you would know that most of the time, guards best play type based on Points Per Possession is Catch and shoot 3's. There aren't many guys in the Summit League, outside of maybe Mayo and McBride that you want shooting 3's off the dribble. So yes, I don't want Brady shooting 3's off the dribble because then he probably shoots 25% from 3 instead of 35%. I don't really want anyone of our guys shooting 3's off the dribble because it is a lower percentage shot.

Omot shot right at 30% T shot 34% Eaglestaff shot 37.5% Brady 35.8% Brooks was 2-9 Norman shot 42% on 81 made 3's last year.
