In my opinion Herter would be one of the better options. Not sure if he is ready to move on from Western Michigan, I would think he would, but tough to say what his long term goals are. Does he plan to continue coaching or is he thinking about leaving sometime in the next couple years. You would think if he is thinking strategically, that if he comes to UND and on the chance things don't work out for Jax, he would be the heir apparent to replace Jax. We know he applied for the HC job so he at least was interested in that.

Anyone know what Herter’s salary is at WMU?

Wonder if Homer's coming in with the expectation of being the starter; wouldn't expect a goalie of his caliber to transfer only to split duties like he did last year. But who knows. Perhaps TJ played a part in getting him here, seeing that he couldn't stop gushing about UND.

So every time Homer makes a save do we have to yell “Whoo hoo!”?

Hopefully every goal scored against him  our opponents fans don’t yell “DOH!”.

    Heard the same at Denver

I am not 100% sure about that.

I remember when the Ivy schools would brag about their hockey players not being on athletic scholarship.
Turns out many players somehow received scholarships set up by alumni that shockingly went to really good hockey players.  It was amazing

Anyway, seems that money finds a way to go to really good athletes at colleges…

    What other option is there??

I dumped supporting the Denver Broncos because of the coach they hired.  IMHO he is a scumbag.

Dane Jackson wasn’t who I wanted but he is a decent guy who seems to have earned this opportunity. Plus it is the Fighting Sioux.

    I am in.

Nobody I've ever known got great due to their successes.  They got great due to their failures.

In most cases head coaches are hired with the understanding that upon perceived lack of success they will  be fired.

If Berry had this success at a school like Colorado College, they would have tolerated a season like 24-25.

    But not at North Dakota

    We are kind of spoiled

Schloss said on one of his UND hockey podcasts a few weeks back that he’d heard Noreen was going to blow up the roster and very few guys would be invited back for next year.

Ah. College hockey’s Coach Prime. Except no bling….

I'll have you know, good sir, this is no mere game of "chuck the pigskin".

    :D

My plan is to pass the puck in front of the net and have the center cherry pick it into the goal.

hey, it works in the video game!  😆

Grant Potulny but it won’t be allowed to happen.

He is on an NHL track with an AHL team. He may not want it anyway.

oddly, I would kind of like that rodent coaching UND.  Hey, it worked with Blais.

  9. Berry & company are bringing in talent.

    however

Berry & company are not doing a good job of coaching and developing talent

IMHO new blood in coaching will still bring in talent and probably do a better job of coaching talent.

Time for a change with folks outside of the UND gene pool.

    Again,  just my opinion

  10. My nephew and niece play youth hockey and I go to as many games as I can.  Never seen this kind of escalation, but I have heard some incredibly stupid things from drunk parents.

Also, seems like 95% of the penalties are tripping calls because kids just don't control the blade if their sticks very well.    Not that I would have at that age. 😁
