They're fanatics down here. We're having a gas shortage, and economist in Georgia suggested they postpone the Georgia/Alabama game so fans don't take all the gas that people need to get to work. The Governor of Georgia thought that was the dumbest idea ever. Actually, he knew that if he agreed to that, he'd be voted out of office next time around!

I'm sure they'll win this, and where their logo definitely has historic significants, there's no way it is a better looking logo than ours, and we all know this. I hated the damn Canadians when I was growing up as a Bruins fan, and this didn't help persuade me to like them anymore!

North Dakota was leading Montreal this morning by 20% and in a matter of 2-3 hours, there was a 60% shift in Montreal's favor. Seems a little suspicious to me. BC's program also wasn't filled with a history of National Championships when York came in. They had won one title I believe, which was quite some time before York's arrival, while Hak is following a coach who was able to bring home two titles in under 10 years. I don't think Hak is going anywhere anytime soon, but for each year he doesn't bring home a national title, he'll be looked at closer under the microscope, especially by the fan base.

Blais ran the same cycling offense with smaller guys. It's just that the guys were so fast that no other team could keep up with them.

Full team practice will begin Oct 1st or 2nd (going off past years here, the team usually only has one or two practices in before the Manitoba exhibition game). However, if memory serves correctly, coaches can work with a certain number of players at a time prior to that date.

I heard they formed a new pact. They're all going to announce the same day they are leaving, giving the heartbreak to us Sioux fans all at once, rather than spread out the agony over the course of a few months.

Hakstol's pre-game comments: No question, I don't know how to compare it to last year. We didn't get the job done and this year is a new year. That hunger to move on is pretty great. That's what it comes down to this time of year. Different teams with different styles. Can't change your game. We're going to go do what we do. I think you have to be aware of their players that sneak out/cheat a little, but we also have to make good plays with the puck and play a good game. Part of our success today has to be getting after their defense, spending time in their zone. They'll get their chances. For a smaller team, they'll grind it out, but we have to get it in their zone and make some plays. I think we're in as good of health as we've been in the past few months. We're healthy enough to play today. Goaltending is so big in a game like today. Phil has been our stabilizing factor all year and we know he'll do it again today. TV timeouts will be long today, and it makes it hard to get it into that flow. We have to adjust. We want to get out and go nose to nose with their guys. I think you'll know what's going on from the drop of the puck. We're going to go nose to nose. TJ is pretty darn close to 100% and that frees you up mentally. He's felt good all week and had great practices. If he's not 100%, he's close. I hope we can give the Sioux fans here something to cheer about.
