  1. Trupp with a post.
  2. Watkins with another point blank slapshot. Sioux getting plenty of chances. Delayed penalty on the Gophers.
  3. Toews with a nice chance, but couldn't get it cleanly from his backhand to his forehand without running out of room.
  4. Sioux should have come out of that with a PP.
  5. Flynn and Hextall each get 2 minutes.
  6. That's probably the first thing they learn in hockey.
  7. Great opportunity, but Gregoire couldn't get it in. Gophers going after Hextall. Looks like Flynn and Hextall may be going to the box.
  8. Nice big rebound there, but no one to pounce on it. "Let's Go Sioux" going. Sioux cycling well in their own end.
  9. Gophers survive the first 10 minutes, which was their first goal. C'mon Sioux. Keep it up, but bury your shots.
  10. C'mon boys!!! 8 shots already, and several of them quality! Need to bury them!
  11. Watkins with a big slapshot 8 feet out. Should have put a move on him. Another wide shot by Watty.
  12. Sioux getting some chances early. Let's bury some boys!
  13. Video link is up.
  14. Haven't done this for a while, so I may have missed some. Hak's pre-game comments: I think we've had a good focused week...now we have to carry that focus into the game tonight. I think they're a good solid team up front with 3 or 4 top players up front. They're a good deep team up front. We're best when we're in our rhythm, so we're going to do our best doing that. We're not going to match lines early on. We'll have to make up our mind about that as the game goes on. The defense is the critical matchup. We're not just going to have one pair play again, but we'll definitely have a couple of units who can do a good job against them. We said to make sure you use a little bit of that extra energy. You have to come in the game with enough presence and poise to make good plays. There's a fine line of that balance, but I'm confident that we can find that balance. Brad back on the blue line. Bottom line is that he's been effective down there. It was a tough decision to take Blood out, because he had a good weekend last week and a good week of practice. We'll make that decision day by day. Their numbers are excellent on the specialty teams. But we feel we can be effective on the special teams. We're going to have to have it against their effective kill. Hopefully we can beat one of their guys up the rush and have opportunities in the zone. There will be some plays that are broken up and you have to go get it, but if you're sharp and crisp, you'll be able to make the play happen. Both teams can cycle the puck well...both can be real hard on the opposing teams defense. I think we have to be physical against their d-corps. You have to be physical against their big guys, but especially against their d-corp, especially some of the younger guys back there. We have a lot of young guys playing good hockey. Our next few months will come down to our senior class. Those guys will be our driving force.
  15. They're playing the Gophers in their home barn...they'd better play with intensity!!!

  17. Too bad too...maybe Cheney would take a puck to the head.
  18. Last time I checked, I didn't think I needed to be asked to give my opinion. You were wondering why they're sitting Kozek. You obviously don't know, nor do I.
  19. And maybe there's more to the story we don't know. Maybe Kozek has been under the weather and is fatigued. Maybe he did something Hak felt was inappropriate. We can judge all we want, but the fact is...we don't know the entire story. As AZSioux said, Hak knows. It's his team to do what he wants with it. He always says guys earn ice time during the week of practice, and maybe Kozie didn't have the best week of practice.
  20. Whatever happened to the Subway Holiday Classic? Did they have anymore after the WJC in GF or was bringing Jared in the icing on the cupcake for that tournament?
  21. Parise with a no look behind the back pass for a primary assist on a Devils goal. Nice play.
  22. Parise with his 22nd goal of the year (99th career goal) in tonight's Devils/Canadians game. Zajac with an assist on the goal.
  23. It's your (American) right to cheer for whomever you choose. A right that was given to you by your forefathers and preserved by the men and women who serve in the (American) Armed Forced today. The Canadians are a great team. Did they deserve to win this game? Debatable. They found a way to win and that is a characteristic of a great team. Pretty much every year, the Gophers are a great team; BC is a great team; Michigan is a great team; but my love for the University of North Dakota and Fighting Sioux hockey is so strong that it's never even been a question who to cheer for. In international sports, maybe it's my love for North Dakota; or my love that I'm in a country that I can choose to live in 49 different other states without a hassle; or that I live in a country that allows me to be as liberal as I am, which drives people like Goon nuts ( ); or the fact that I grew very close to a lot of the men and women in the 6 years that I served this great country in the United States Navy; or the fact that any time I was in a foreign country, my love for America was as strong as the love I hold for my closest family members; that helps me make the easiest decision in this world...when an American team, regardless of the sport, dons the Red, White, and Blue, my allegiance is to the one and only, good 'ol United States. GO USA!!!
  24. It was a better showing than last years. They showed they can play with the Canadians.
  25. Another ENG. 7-4. US gave up on that one.
