Mankato usually has the same type of team. On paper, it looks like an easy win, but once we get on the ice, it always to seem as big as battle, if not bigger, than the bigger teams.

That was pretty much a slam to a coach, regardless of whether or not it's true.

These are college hockey players midway through the season. They're pretty well conditioned at this point. I don't think a 2 minute 5 on 3 is going to tire them to the point where they won't be able to perform competitively in the 3rd period. We ended up winning the game, but as Gretzky said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Shoot the puck and look for rebounds.

I knew that. I don't know what I was thinking. Talent wise, there is not reason we should not beat Bemidji. However, some teams just always play us tough (Mankato and Bemidji being two teams). They're not playing terrible this year (ask UMD), and will surely be fired up for a crack at us. I didn't say I wanted a split, I just wouldn't be surprised with one. Would I enjoy a sweep. Definitely. However, Bemidji will be fired up and we're missing some key freshman in the lineup.

I wonder if the owner's of the Red Pepper have ever thought about that? They'd make a fortune on game nights. The Red Pepper itself is always packed prior to games. Always amazing how a little place like that can make such an impression on so many people.

That's good to hear. He's really having a good season, and has really taken on a leadership role for the Islanders.

To be honest, I'd be happy with a split. Yes, I hope for the sweep (like I do every weekend), but the Beavers always play us tough, and I do think it's going to be a definite challenge for our guys. I always take the Dean Blais approach on the road though, and that's to hope for a split. Anything more is a bonus!

That's a tough choice with the Sioux's #11 in the lineup. It's fun to watch both of them, as well as the other talented players on the ice.
