  1. I think they just love to root against Americans
  2. Look at this! Bunch of hockey junkies sitting around listening to an audiocast at 11pm at night! Doesn't anyone work anymore??? Go USA!
  3. USA definitely turned it around to save the period. Oshie really putting on a show for the Canadian crowd. I'm sure they're all looking in their programs and thinking, 'Whose that number 7 for the Americans?' Keep it up in the 2nd!
  4. Lee scores!!!!!!! 3-2 USA!
  5. Oshie just dazzling the crowd! Another penalty on Finland!
  6. Chorney and Lee sandwich Kessel? Oh wait, I was dreaming In reality though, it sounds like the US are picking it up quite a bit.
  7. Wheeler ties it 2-2. Go USA!!!!
  8. Finland definitely crashing the net!
  9. I'm sure that T.J. made a sweet move, as we've seen all year long. However, as a vet to audiocasts on the WJC, I can tell you that you'll hear a lot of excitement in Jim Rich's voice when the US makes good plays. Makes you root harder for the USA though! Penalty on the US.
  10. Sauer comments that US players are trying to do too much on their own, rather than using teammates. As per AZSioux's article post on the Oshie thread, Oshie commented that the players needed to accept their various roles on this teammate and fight their egos. Doesn't sound like they've accomplished that yet.
  11. Oshie almost scores!!!!
  12. Can hear it in the crowd that the US is just gaining fans!
  13. Kessel should have earned a penalty but didn't? This is "Phil Kessel" now, come on, he doesn't get a penalty.
  14. US Scores!!!! 2-1. Fritsche gets the goal.
  15. Kessel was on the ice for the 2nd goal. Let's blame him
  16. Finland scores on a breakaway, shorthanded goal. 2-0.
  17. You'd think by the crowd, that other countries (Canada in this case) think Americans are dicks or something
  18. Oshie draws a penalty. Let's go PP.
  19. Finland scores on a rebound goal. 1-0. Let's go USA! Move your feet! Crowd cheering for Finland.
  20. I see my advice was well taken. Penalty on US within the first 30 seconds!
  21. Let's go USA!!! Not so many penalties tonight
  22. Canada game will start at 6pm on NHL Center Ice and 7:30pm on FSN, but let's worry about tonights game first, which can only be seen on tv tomorrow at noon on NHL Center Ice. However, it is available live via audiocast atUSA Hockey Website which starts in about 5 minutes!
  23. There always seems to be such a division between east coast and western hockey. East coast fans don't tend to think too highly of western teams, and the same goes vice versa. Of course, the true college hockey fan will look beyond location and look at the actual teams. However, western fans don't tend to think that east coast fans/teams think very highly of the teams in western hockey. It goes back this way for ages. It's funny to watch the movie "Miracle" and see that the same problem existed in 1979. Personally, which many others agree with, I think Boston College, Boston University, Maine, and New Hampshire tend to field strong teams, with solid players. Every now and then, you see a different team in there, but these tend to be the programs in the East that are in the national tournament in March/April. I'm sure the same goes for eastern fans with teams such as North Dakota, Minnesota, Colorado College, and Denver. Throw in the two Michigan teams and there are the powerhouses of college hockey. These are the teams with illustrious programs, and the teams that tend to get the top recruits, which is why they are consistently in contention for a national championship.
  24. If you have NHL Center Ice, you can see the game live, otherwise, FSN is showing the game, tape-delayed beginning at 7:30p.m. (CT).
  25. TJ Oshie's comment in the article you posted earlier was right on. Egos of team members will play a big role, as well as players accepting their roles. If everyone tries to be a superstar, the US will struggle in the latter parts of this tournament. As you said, tonight's game should be a better test for our team. I'm still skeptical of our goaltending, but we'll see how that goes tonight as well. Go USA!
