19 seconds left in the 2 man advantage.
-
Smaby takes an awful penalty. 5 on 3.
-
Whew! Close call there. Still 1-0. Jordy heavily screened in front of the net.
-
Hey, we made it nearly 15 minutes without a penalty. Unfortunately, we make it no longer. Radke with high sticking call. Let's go PK!
-
Smaby with a HUGE hit on Cook.
-
DU announcers making Punkovich's hits out to be bigger than what they actually are.
-
Plays evened out pretty much right now. Sioux need to just play hard and take their chances when they occur.
-
I was going to say, when I turned it was 2-2. Wisconsin bad and get their goals taken away from them?
-
Nice check on the linesman there.
-
Yeah...stay in net JPar!
-
All DU so far. Let's wake up boys.
-
Lines: Spirko - Zajac - Oshie Duncan - Toews - Stafford Fabian - Prpich - Porter Kozek - Watkins - Kaip Jones - Smaby Chorney - Lee Finley - Radke

First shot and a goal for DU. 11 seconds in. Not good. Let's go boys!

TH reports that Rylan Kaip has a "ding" on his leg, and may or may not go. If not, Lee Marvin will go for him.

Curious George's comments: Hard to climb out of a hole when you get down three goals, especially a team like North Dakota. Need a better start, need better mindset involving officials, including yours truly. TH: Ever been ousted before? GD: I never have. Certain things call for something to be done, and that was a point in the game that something had to be done. Apologized to team after the game, and now we move on. Felt North Dakota was much better than when we played them in October. Confidence in freshman has grown. Talent is obvious, but experience with talent is showing itself. When they do make a mistake, Jordan looks pretty good in the net. Tough team to play against. Last night, PP was similar to the rest of the game. Struggled. Reminded me of the game we played last Saturday against Minnesota. Want to make a better play than what's available, so at times, we don't take the opportunity to make a specific play, which leads to a bigger error. Need to simplify our game. Concerned that we're not getting a consistent effort every night. Not playing chopped liver here. Playing good teams - Sioux Pride. Continue to work on consistency. Intend to hang from the rafters tonight and eat banana's.

Hak's comments (came in late so ending comments): Need to get the first goal again. Going to be another rough game, but need to keep things in perspective. JPar in net again.

Pregame show has started! Let's go Sioux. We need the other 2 points in the series!

Want to see the feel good sports video of the year
Siouxdonyms replied to Fetch's topic in Men's Hockey
It was actually aired on Good Morning America either Thursday or Friday morning (I don't recall which one). It is a truly amazing story though. If you've never volunteered your time to help out in such events, such as Special Olympics, I highly encourage you to do so. It is my students highlight point of the year, and really gives you a different perspective on winning and losing, and I guarentee that you'll experience one of the best feelings you've ever felt in your life. -
If Prpich's intent with the shot was to seek revenge for Robbie, than hopefully he let's it go now. However, more than likely, it was Prpich trying to get under the skin of DU players, which I believe he did very well. I was personally still hoping to see him take a drink from Mannino's water bottle. Paukovich obviously showed what type of player he was with his retaliation on Oshie, after Oshie made a clean body check just prior to the incident. However, as I've stated in the past week, and many others have agreed, now is not the time to seek revenge for Robbie. If it were going to be done, it should have been done in October. As someone already stated, the best revenge would be to eliminate the "Two-Time Defending Champs" from the NCAA tournament all together, and with a victory tonight, we may just do that. That would be the best revenge possible. Personally, my favorite moment was when Curious George was going ape on the dasher. I was hoping to see a players bench come out onto the ice.

REA should take the footage of Gwozdecky squatting on the dasher, and replace his head with a monkey, with the caption..."George? Is that you?"
-
Kind of look alike too.

Excellent game tonight for the Sioux. DU did fight in the 2nd period, but Sioux found a way to turn things around for the better in the 3rd. Freshman showed again. I like that, but I still think we need the upperclassman to show too, in order to go anywhere in the playoffs. It seems like one night, it's the freshman, while the next night, it's the upperclassman. Let's all just score all the time, and get back to normal 6 and 7 goal games like back in the late 90s!!!

He's sitting on the floor eating banana's. Oh wait, that's Curious George.
