  4. I live in Washburn, which is 40 miles north of Bismarck, and I have the Fortec Mercury II receiver. I am willing to help you over the phone or by email. You can contact me by calling my (Alltel) cell phone of 701.315.0146 or email at rmcleod@grenergy.com. Phone after 3:30 PM week days or on week-ends, during normal work week hours - use email. Good luck, Ron
  5. I have a signal level in the 84-85 on the satellite. With the Fortec Mercury II receiever the signal quality jumps around quite a bit, so these numbers are approximate. Univ. network signal quality is 50 to 60. CBS Newspath signal quality is 55 to 60. Aghapy signal quality is 25 to 50. Fox News channel, (test pattern), signal quality is 85 to 90. FSSN last night signal quality started out 50 to 60, then latter dropped to 15 to 25 and was pixelating. I am going to let the system run on a single channel all day to see if the signal degrades after time. Yeah, it does seem pretty wierd that I wasn't having problems on the other stations. Thanks!

  7. ; I have the Fortec Star Mercury II Satellite reciever (new), with the Fortec Universal LNB and a Winegard 76 cm dish. I still had good quality the Univerity Network and the CBS News feed, while FSSN went from really good to very borderline. Seems like the longer my unit was on the weaker the signal became. I gave my old Satwork reciever to my brother in Denver last year and then bought the Mercury II. I have a 4 foot dish that I can set up, but I will try a different LNB first. The Xtreme II LNB sounds good, I will oder one form Pete today. Thanks!
  8. I do not have any obstructions in front of the dish, used to have a Satwork system that was pretty solid, but this year I have a Fortec Mercury II reciever that I am starting to question. I am first going to try a different LNB to see if it improves. PSB, if you have any for LNB's sale, please let me know. Thanks, Ron
  9. PSB, Did your signal strength stay strong all night or drop off after the first period like mine did?
  10. Anyone else having signal quality problems on their FTA system tonight? Mine was strong the first period but has dropped off now, pixelating quite a bit.
  11. I am in need of FIGHTING SIOUX Hockey tickets for Thanksgiving week-end, Friday November 23rd and Saturday November 24th. I need 4 or more for each night. It's Hockey Season again; Yahoo!!! Thanks, Ron Washburn, ND 701-462-8402 rmcleod@GREnergy.com
  12. I have the Satwork ST3618, LNBF ASC321, but am now using a 1.2 meter dish instead of my original 76 cm dish. I have the LNBF ASC321, are there better LNB's that would help increase signal strength? I had a signal quality that varied from 39 to 43, signal intensity at 76, was able to watch the entire game with no problems. Had higher signal quality strength the last weekend they televised. I suspected last night, that anyone who had a smaller dish would have problems. The Chinese stations are coming in at a steady signal quality of 90, don't know if will go higher than 90 on the Satwork ST3618.
  13. My original system is a Satwork ST3618 with a 76cm dish, (mis-quoted my dish size in an earlier post as being a 90 cm dish). Two weeks I bought and installed an in-line signal amplifier which did not seem to help at all. On Saturday I bought a used 1.2 meter dish from an installer in Bismarck, ND. The 1.2 meter dish appears to be a figerglass composite of some sort, with a tripod frame to hold the LNB. Set up the 1.2 meter dish when I got home, left the in-line amplifier in circuit, and used a satellite meter to tweak in the signal. Had signal quality of 90 on the Chinese stations, had upper 80's previously. Saturday's game using the Satwork ST3618 and the 1.2 meter dish I had signal quality of 87 to 90. Sunday's exibition game I had a steady signal of 90. Even when they had the power turned up previously, I never received this high of signal quality levels. 1.2 meter dish may be more than I need but I was desparate. The DirecPC dishes that PSB and other uses may have done the job as well for me, but the installer only had the smaller size of the DirecPC dish and I wanted to go for the home run. Hope this information helps out others that have been having the same poor or no reception that i have had this year.
  14. PSB, What size of a DirecPC dish are you using? I have the 90cm dish and am not getting anything on the FSSN but am getting a great signal on the three Chinese stations. I am going to get a bigger dish. Thanks!
  15. Is anyone able to pick up anything on AMC9 satellite today? I have moved my dish and have picked up AMC3, but can't seem to find AMC9. I have the Satwork ST3618 system. Has anyone had any luck?
