  1. new info is up for the year same satellite...different transponder 2009
  2. last year ESPNU did have HD games because I saw them They had the West regional and the East regional in HD.....I have the UMD games on DVD and the source was HD Northeast & Midwest were SD Only
  3. other than game 4 (5-0 loss) the 6 games were all very close to the end. Got to see all 7 games on TV and DAMN that was a fun series. 6 games in essence decided by one goal (ENG in the last 30 seconds are kinda moot) but a couple thoughts on the series -JPL is still amazing. Some of the saves he made remind me of the Sioux days -Those guys friggin fly up and down the ice. The last two games were like watching a game in speed mode. Even the announcers said "I don't know how long they can keep this pace up" -If you put a good team on the ice, folks come out. After seeing 4 years of Anchorage games on satellite and seeing rows of empty yellow seats, to see that arena packed and that electric was insane. -For you folks who have seen the UAA/Sioux games and hear those damn cowbells...take that loudness and crank it up about 100 times. Seems like EVERYONE there (even the Governor and her husband) had one of them cowbells. Too bad Alaska lost...would have been great to come back from 3-1 deficit to win it. But SC did what very few people have done. Beat Alaska in their building. Alaska had been 8-1 in Playoff games there this year before last night and had one of the best home records in the season
  4. HD would mean you would need a new receiver
  5. I guess if it works for you then thats all that matters
  6. watch a sporting event in true HD and you'll change your mind. Watch NASCAR, the NFL or NHL on a HD feed and its much better
  7. Dave can I ask what you have for a setup? TV size? SD or HD (sounds like SD) satellite/cable/antenna? Dave you're wrong. And no I dont work for any HD broadcaster. When I watched the NCAA playoffs the UMD games and the East games were in HD 720p. The Midwest (Bemidji) and Sioux games were on SD 480. I was able to watch all the games directly from the source uplink (via FTA) The UMD games and East games were stunning. Crystal clear picture The Sioux games in SD werent bad but on my 42" HDTV you could see the difference between that and the HD feed. Not much but there was a difference. The Frozen 4 I had to resort to Dish Network (no backhaul feed) which looked like crap in SD. This is due to the fact they cram 10-12 channels on a transponder so it looks like mush. The HD feeds they can get 3-4 on a transponder so it isnt as bad but it is better than the SD feed. I've given copies of the UMD games to folks who watched them on SD TV's and commented on how clear the picture was. So I guess we're all smoking something some SD channels do look like crap on a HDTV but it depends on the source. some of my OTA channels are in SD only and they don't look that bad. A few locals here in Minneapolis have SD subchannels of the HD feed. Fox, My Network & CW have SD counterparts and when I watch the news on Fox 9 I watch the SD channel and its not bad. The FSSN games are SD only and they look really good on the TV but then again I am getting it from satellite. But there is a difference even of a HD feed versus a SD feed on a SD TV. In my bedroom I have a DTV converter box and the HD feed of a channel even on a regular 27" TV looks clearer than the SD feed. The SD feed looks "softer"
  8. 100 miles? try 365
  9. Alabama-Huntsville applied to both the WCHA & CCHA Move Northern Michigan into the WCHA, give us Bemidji & give the CCHA Alabama since its closer to Ohio & Indiana

    Final 5 TV

they need to have Fox Sports Net North Dish or DirecTv and most sports bars would have the multi-sport package that gets the FSN Networks from across the US

    Final 5 TV

According to what I've read (and seen), the games will be in HD (the games will be produced by the same folks that do the Wild and not the guys who do the Goofer games...thats why they are in HD)
